Bras type

CAN anyone tell me the difference between plunge and push up, as I have a selection of both trying to sort them out in my draws, I know what they do but just looking at them on bed.

Plunge is about the cut: the breasts look like they are ā€œplungingā€ into the bra. Push-ups are generally wired and more structured: their purpose is to push your breasts upwards, making them appear more full and presented

I think of them like this:

Plunge bra: has a deep v-shape, designed to be worn under tops / dresses with a plunging neckline. Usually they have only a narrow bit of material and wire between the cups.

Push up: almost always has a thick layer of padding particularly towards the bottom of the cup. This is designed to push the breasts up and make the breasts look bigger. Push up bras can come in many styles like plunge or balcony.

This is a plunge bra:

This is a push up bra (a balcony style):

And this one is both a push up and a plunge:

It might be OCD in me, but I :two_hearts: my OH always to go out in matching colour bra and panties.

Most of her bras are under wired, for support, but she definitely does not need them to be padded as she has large fantastic breasts.

@MARSH34C I’ve combined some of your topics into one.

Please search and see if there are existing topics similar to the one you want to start before starting a new one. You can then just add a comment to the existing topic :+1:t2:

The forum rules cover this

As a lingerie-wearing guy, unwired bralettes work really well although they don’t look quite as ā€œbra-likeā€. I have tried a sports bra too but it was too plain. Just looked like a very shrunk vest top!

If I want the full effect it has to be quite fancy and padded which usually means underwired and I just accept it won’t fit quite right.

As for colours and matching tops and bottoms….yes. Always matching.

Ok so I think the plunge v’s push up discussion for me as a 60 yo guy who’s breasts are kinda small is irrelevant I usually wear a B cup but what is the definition of a balcony bra?

Balcony bras have a wider strip of material in the middle between the cups and generally look more horizontal across the top, hence the name, balcony. I’ll see if I can find one and add a photo to the photos thread.

Type or style aside, where did you get that top one?

Hi @marbles1 I’m not allowed to say, sorry! It is a few years old now so they probably don’t sell it anymore anyway. Maybe try Google images? Not sure if that would work or how to use it!

Completely understand. I think I recognise the brand just from the style. I reckon with matching high waist knickers I’d look terrific/ridiculous/sexy/kinky in that set. :star_struck:
