Just thought I'd share the following knowledge I found out today...
if buying someone something off of their wishlist, the system won't let you use a card, it'll just keep taking you back to the 1st page- 'begin transaction,' where you select or deselect OH! Points to use and payment method...
To get the payment to work, you need to select 'cheque or bank transfer' option, and then someone at Customer Services can help you link the order to your account, when you get the order number through.
I did check my cookies setting on my tablet, but that didn't solve the issue. As soon as I mentioned I was buying a gift off a wishlist, I was informed of the 'bug'.
Hope that helps save some keyboard/touchscreen bashing!!
Oh yes, this bug... I was baffled by this when trying to make a gift order a couple of weeks ago. The system actually lets me get to the very last page of the transaction, I can type in the security code generated by my bank but then I get redirected to a "Sorry, something has happened" page.
Thank God the folks in the Customer Care are so helpful; when you choose - as Luv bunny said - the "bank transfer" option, you can subsequently call them and give them your card details so that they can link the payment to your credit/debit card properly.

Yep I know! a right pain cos you have to call each and every time!!! My paypal didn't work either!!! grrrr i hope they sort this out!
I have been the victim of this bug several times, it's a real pain in the bottom. Each time I have gifted something in the last 6 weeks I have had to ring customer services to send it. The people at customer services have been great, one man went through the system with me, and it did the circular loop thing to him as well. So I know they are aware of it.
I must say that I think the bug is fixed as the very last gift I sent (to thumper the rabbit) went streight through, no problems.

I had to call the customer care this afternoon so it probably hasn't been fixed just yet.
(And when I call the curstomer service, I feel ever so sorry for them... I have not had many opportunities to speak English lately and while my ability to write properly is, I think, quite decent, my spoken English is, erm, not that good... *feeling embarrassed*)
I am so grateful for this thread! I have had this problem recurringly and eventually just gave up. The live chat either didn't know about the bug back then, or I just met someone who didn't, because they just told me to try again. So I gave up! But now, hopefully, it will be fixed and gifting can commence!!
Ahhhh, I thought this was just me! Very annoying, but Customer Service were amazing, as usual. I know I can't use paypal unless the item is being sent to the billing address, so I really hope this is fixed soon as I'd like to be able to send more gifts.
