I'd love a gift of lingerie from a partner but only because it can be bloody expensive haha! 
I think the only way it would offend me is if it was something I either had no interest in wearing, or had outright stated that I wouldn't like.
But if I show my man some nice lingerie that I have my eye on and he bought it for me I'd really appreciate it. So maybe try and discuss what lingerie she likes or would choose to wear herself and then buy it for her, rather than buying her something that only you liked.
To me it depends on the lingerie. A nice bra & pants set that she can wear day-to-day (or just for special outfits) that makes her feel sexy is more for her, but I enjoy seeing her in it. My OH is quite busty so her choice of retailers is somewhat limited and therefore can be pricey. As a result she doens't buy herself lingerie until she really needs to, so me buying her some isn't just for my benefit.
On the other hand, if I buy her something that is only really for the bedroom, that's a present for me! She may enjoy it and hopefully she will feel sexy and appreciated, but I feel it's mainly a present for me.
I would love it! I love new underwear. I would consider it a gift for both :) x
I would only feel it selfish if he bought it in a colour or style I didn't like but he did.
I love receiving underwear as a gift, it's hasn't happened very often as I buy a lot myself.
My wife loves me getting her new underwear she says I have better taste than her. I always try and hit the happy medium between sexy and practical which is never easy.
I wouldn't think it selfish, I would love it if my husband were to buy me some sexy lingerie as a gift.

I don't see it as selfish, I usually drop little hints to my boyfriend and show him underwear I would like and if he treats me to it then we're both benefitting, I get pretty underwear and he gets to see me in it, we both share the same tastes so If I showed him something that I liked he'd usually agree and maybe buy me it

I think I would squeel with delight so much sex wouldn't be necessary if my fiance bought me lingerie LOL
He loves it, I love owning it (although I never bother wearing it oops)
But I do the shopping, he just has the occasional look to remind me what he likes - which is everything >.<

Can't complain though, he had the money saved up since summer to buy an Xbox One last month and he went off and spent it on an engagement ring as my birthday present ;-)
It was my birthday yesterday and I asked my OH to get me an item of lingerie from my wishlist, and he did ;)
On the one hand I knew I was getting lingerie but on the other, it was still a surprise because I had no idea which one he bought me.
I think if a woman asks for lingerie you're fine, if it's not on the agenda then it's best being bought as a side gift to go with something non sex related that she may want. After all, even though I asked for lingerie, me and OH both know it's also a treat for him!
If a couple haven't had sex in a while and it's not even been talked about, receiving lingerie as a gift can seem selfish and out of the blue. It wouldn't go down well!
I agree.....I would never buy it as the only gift, but if its asked for then the wishlist works great and is so easy to use.....even for a idiot like me!

buying lingerie for a partner does not have to be selfish depending on the situation and what you buy, i love buying my partner underwear i always buy it her as a gift. She only ever had one person buy her undies and they got it wrong, i spend hours looking round for undies i take great pleasure in buying her undies she can wear every single day not just something to wear special occasions as to me i like to put the effort into things that are both comfy sexy and femine that can be worn every day. We are at the point now where she don't even have to come underwear shopping as i have never got it wrong and trusts me to buy her anything and know it will be comfy sexy and suitable for everday use.
forgot to mention but when my misses got with me since i brought her a few sets she loved she let me throw all her old undies away when she moved in and let me buy her new sets of everything without even looking at anything i brought. I do love underwear shopping have helped lady friends in the past with underwear shopping as well and love it shopping for underwear or helping lady friends underwear shopping just my thing.
