I recently started venturing into the world of anal masterbation and i was using my dildo that i originally bought for vagina penetration. Before anal i douche and make sure everything’s clean, and I used the dildo (silicone btw) but now i’m wondering if it’s still safe to use in my vagina. I cleaned it thoroughly with toy cleaner and store all my toys in individual bags, so my heart says everything’s clean because it’s silicone but my head says to check.

Wouldn’t recommend it to be honest. Even silicon is slightly porous and could be harbouring bacteria. Best to get one for each use. Some people use condoms on them when using them anally to aid clean up and keep them more sanitary.

As long as it’s cleaned properly in between and is medical grade silicone you’re absolutely fine. Medical grade silicone, which all silicone toys sold by Lovehoney should be) is non porous and safe to use anally and in your vagina (after being sterilised before going back in!)
Obviously TPE mixtures are porous and shouldn’t be used this way.
ETA - In response to @Calie , yes, technically though always described as non-porous they are porous to gasses but as they can be completely steralised with boiling water they are safe to use (as you also state) in this way.

It should be ok if it is silicone and washed thoroughly although I imagine there is always a small risk. I think you can boil silicone dildos in water or put them in the dishwasher too - only if it’s not a vibrating one of course! Someone please correct me if I’m wrong!

All silicone is technically porous (including medical grade). However due to the nature of silicone (size of the pores, hydrophobic etc) any bacteria that gets in will die off eventually because it won’t get fed. However, because silicone can be sanitised (eg by boiling if it doesn’t have a motor), you can kill the bacteria.
If you want to use the dildo in both holes in the same session, then you are going to need to use condoms over it. Otherwise, as long as you clean and sanitise it between uses then you will be fine

Also depends on if you are prone to urine infections, if you are it’s best to keep one for each orifice!

I honestly do this all the time with multiple silicone toys and I’m fine. If it wasn’t fine I’d probably be dead right now or have many many infections 
I’d say go for it if you really want or get a second dildo if it makes you uncomfortable. Just make sure to clean them very well after each use.

Considering the price of dildos vs your peace of mind, i would buy one for each hole. Glass ones i think would be easier to keep sterile.

Would glass be better to clean ? Of course by then you have bought a new glass dido so could keep them for separate uses.
