Can’t unscrew magic wand base

Hi, I’ve just bought the black mini wand

I cannot unscrew the base! It’s really tight, shifts one way ever so slightly but it’s seeming to be impossible, has anyone else had this problem and managed to solve it?

I don’t own this toy, but having had a good, close look at the product images, I can’t see how that bottom cap could ever unscrew, as the seam where it meets the rest of the toy is an undulating wave shape. If it were meant to unscrew, surely it would be a straight line, no? :thinking:

@Grace2 - Have you been able to unscrew the base before? I’m just wondering whether it’s one of those that requires a push-and-twist action or something.

ADDED LATER: In fact, the first review on the product page complains about the same thing:

“However, due to the curved design at the bottom (which you are supposed to twist to open and put batteries in), it’s very hard to set up. Was about to call customer service thinking the one I had received was faulty when I just managed to get it open.”

As far as I remember it doesn’t unscrew in the usual sense. The wave shape acts like a cam and pushes the base off when you twist it then it snaps back on.

It’s brand new and I haven’t got in to it yet!
I’m worrying about returning it because now it’s got marks where I’ve tried to pry it off :joy:

I’ll just have to keep trying I think
