Never give up on love. Just look somewhere different Hun. Dating sites are great but you won't ever know the real person till you meet in the flesh. Just enjoy life and single life, don't rush anything as you will focus on a lot of negativity and feel lonely which is the worst. I was single for a few years and I loved the absolute freedom of doing everything at my pace and didn't have to answer to anyone. Your a beautiful woman and don't waste a second of your life to someone who doesn't appreciate you x
Don't give up!!!! You will find someone who treats you the way you deserve to be treated ❤

Honestly Aims, I'm just so depressed right now. It feels like I can't do anything right 😢

I'm just so sick of being alone...or liking someone only to have them screw me over in the WRONG way. I also miss being screwed in the RIGHT way.
And it's not even the quality of the dating sites cos I've tried the paid ones and they are just as bad so I might as well just stick with Plenty of nutters...or give up all together 😞
Hahaha, dating sites.... they are awful! Trouble is, where else to go? Don't give up though, there's someone wonderful out there for you xx
I hate dating sites. I would laugh but my experience of them can be broken down like this;
1. I take time to get some good photos, put time and thought into filling out my profile.
2. I contact guys I like the look of and have a profile I like.
3. I either hear nothing or don't hear much after a while.
4. I give up as all I end up finding are lazy profiles where no effort has gone into them such as very few or no photos, sparse profile or just stuff that is an instant put-off like heaps of unappealing shirtless photos, bathroom mirror selfies etc.
As a way to find people it is awful.

Totally this, I want to tell everyone who suggests them or says I need to keep persisting with dating site to try them for a while, totally demoralising I find.

Exactly, where else to go? I don't get to go out much...if ever, so meeting people the old fashioned way is out and chances of meeting the man of my dreams walking round Sainsburys is ZERO! Hahaha!
Tomorrow is a new day, go out with friends that build you up, it's not you that can't do anything right, people can be real dicks!!! You'll meet a good one soon ❤Corset_is wrote:

And therein lies the rub...my friends turned their backs when my son got diagnosed autistic. I have no family or child care so I don't get out much. I have school hours and every other weekend. It's quite a lonely life so the support I have found here means the world xx
I'm sorry for what I'm about to say, but they werent friends in the first place if they have turned their backs. My friends child has been diagnosed with autism and we all love him as we would any child. All children need and deserve love and attention. Sorry for what you are going through atm. But things will get better xCorset_is wrote:

Ah I'm sorry but I didn't mean to bring you down. It's sad that a thing which was supposed to help people connect is such a bad experience for many people of many lifestyles. I do believe there is somebody for everybody. It's not easy to find that person, this I know, but when they do come into your life it is worth all the fallow times.Corset_is wrote:

Oh don't be, they are terrible people! I have learned that the hard way. 15 years of friendship through church and in one week they all turned their backs cos my son isn't as 'perfect' as their kids
Get yourself and your son out there. Meet like minded people. Make some new and better friends. We all deserve the best of friends xxCorset_is wrote:

**EDITED** Seriously, I know EXACTLY how you feel but these men aren't worth it. I've been treated like crap in the past but don't ever think there's something wrong with you. The right person is out there who will treat you like a princess.
Personally after reading your reply to this thread @Corset_is, I don't think putting yourself out there on the dating scene is the best idea. If I was in your situation I would concentrate on reinstating your confidence.
I can imagine you're after some company as you say you have "quite a lonely life". How about a new hobby? For example, I found the fitness classes I joined not only improved my overall fitness but boosted my confidence. I have met so many new people there also.
@ Corset_is: Lol, I shop in Sainsbury's all the time!
@xxxPhoenix72: Damn there being too many of that chain or I might have had you over the oven chips with a frozen chicken drumstick by now! Lol x

Good for you 'couple'. I have severe osteoarthritis from my toes to my hips, every step is agony,
Thank you @Corset_is, however I think you missed the point. I have re-read my reply and I can't see where i suggested you joined me in the gym.
Despite feeling your reply comes across as rather rude, I have to echo my previous advice to find some 'me time/ a hobby'. Obviously I can appreciate this would take some careful consideration, when taking into account your osteoarthritis from your toes to your hips, your low self esteem and depression. Not forgetting your lack of 'free time' due to the issues with childcare as you have no family or childcare. And a smaller social circle since your friends questionable decision to turn their backs when your son got diagnosed autistic.
In the hope you do have more success dating, i have taken the time to find some previous thread that you might find helpful.
