very soon i will be having my first ever holiday with my girlriend, it wont be the same as it will be with her parents! next year is just gonna be us, but as we will be having a lot of time just me and her, i was thinking of taking a sex toy or lube or some. and just wondered if people have been stopped at the xray scanners at airports! i know my girlfriend wont dare carry a vibe or dildo.. but it would be terrible if i did for her, and then security had to whip it out haha!!

its simple - Don't carry it in your hand luggage. Put it in your main suitcase inside of something - yes it will be seen on their scanners but it is very unlikely they will remove it from your bag. I've taken sex toys abroad before now (rabbit to cyprus) !! and not had any problem!

She's right. Me and my OH at the time brought some sex toys back from Amsterdam. Just put them in your suitcase and all with be fine. We took a cockring and rabbit back without a hitch

yeah the girls are right, why carry it in your hand luggage? plus with liquids (lube) you can only have that many ml. And, lol, if they do stop you in customs, at least they take you to one side and don't just whip it out in front of everyone!!
Have frequently taken toys away, my partner refuses to put the vib (there was another thread years ago that gave some details I think of some coutries that ban them) in her bag, but just check them and it really won't be a problem.
As for sex on the beach in Turkey, if they catch you you will go to jail, google it, regular reports every summer. Last time I was there the police would not even allow topless at family beaches but I guess it has changed a little.

Brilliant-just what I wanted to know/hear. Am going to Amsterdam next month and I plan on purchasing a sex toy out there and funnily enough I was asking my oh the other day about if it would be ok carrying it through the airport in our suitcase and what would they do if the searched it and found it in there?!
Have had more of a reaction when they asked my what the grey powder in the container was and I told them it was my mother. When I took a dinosaur egg through as hand laggage the security people at Gatwick showed it around to show the others what it looked like on the machine.
I've taken lots of toys (vibrators, cuffs, whips, lube etc) through airports and never had a problem. I've never been to Amsterdam but we've carried toys though many other European airports and to Australia via Bangkok.
Main thing is to put them in your checked luggage not your hand luggage.
Also, make sure you take the batteries out of any that need them and, if possible, run down any rechargeable ones before you go or try to pack them so that its difficult for them to be switched on. I always think that if they start buzzing while going through customs then they might feel the need to investigate further. Sounds like the plot to a bad porno! :P

If you take lube in your hand luggage, remember can only be 100ml maximum size...
Whenever I travel abroad with sex toys, I take a paddle, small whip, lubricant and some toys. The toys I take are the ones I have of lesser value or I don't enjoy as much. I never take my rechargeable ones just in case they take them and I don't want to damage the toy by using the wrong voltage.
I have never had a problem, but I simply take these precautions.
I think the problem with rechargeable toys is because of their high price, I am not sure you would be able to have them checked in. If something happened you may as well be told you should hav ensured all more valuable things were in your hand luggage.
I actually got searched heavily by French at the Euro Channel, they scanned every luggage on the coach and I had the Lelo Mia with me and they did not make any comments. I will be currently taking the Tango and G-Ki with me, as I am returning to UK to finish my degree. Basically, I live between 2 countries, so I dont have like the luxury choice of avoiding rechargeables, especially when I am moving back to Czech Republic in September.

yeah I've taken sex toys on trips plenty of times - if they are in your hold luggage you will not have to hear any sniggers as you won't be there while they are being scanned! I normally take the batteries out of mine for travelling though.
This thread reminds me of a really really embarrassing incident though. I was staying in London for a few days and needed to use one of those luggage services at a main train station. I did not expect them to search my bag! I was carrying pro cam equipment, lots of racy underwear and 5! sex toys (including a massive dildo). They got it ALL out in front of me and the other customers!

Most Turkish people are Muslim so all forms of nudity are unacceptable, it is always wise to respect the customs of the country you are visiting.
Outdoor sex is an offence in most countries but trying it in a predominantly Muslim country is probably not a good idea unless you plan to have an extended stay in a "lovely" Turkish prison
