What size of condoms should i by for 5.5/6 inches?
It probably varies by brand and I would imagine there is some guidance on the packets?
For those length measurements you would fit in regular size condoms, however penis circumference is also a factor to consider when choosing a condom size

Looking at the size guides from both Durex and Trojan, a circumference of 5" falls into the top end of the regular size

I am similar size and have found some brands regular have been to tight so have had to buy King size (L)
But always check the size guide as each brand is different.
This is also a bit of trial and error unfortunately until you find the correct fot for you.
Medium size maybe? But usually there’s guidance on the boxes or listing if ordering online 
I’m a similar size and I use pasante king size. They fit really well and comfortable. I wish I had tried these years ago, I used to use standard size condoms and never felt very comfortable but just assumed that’s how they are. I never considered myself big enough to warrant king size and thought they would be baggy but far from it

Oh, so that means when you go to those 7-Elevens, they have different sizes like small,regular/medium and large? Luckily I saw this thread.
I find general stores don’t usually stock different sizes of condoms, just different styles, which is probably why people don’t realise they are available. Your best going to a pharmacy to get different sizes if you need them there and then or of course off LH. They’re not usually called small medium and large,(like coffee!!) they will be something like trim, regular, and king size
Regarding condom use during sex, do you have to hold on to it(not the pointy end but the other end) every time you switch positions with your partner? To make sure it stays on.
I found a place that does custom condoms. Never too tight or too loose. It unwraps all the way or more if you are lucky to be that long. Love a perfect fit condom.
You shouldn’t need to keep holding onto to it or rolling it back down during sex, I just put it on and forget it’s there till we’re done. If this is happening you may be using the wrong sized condoms
We only use condoms for anal (nice & strong with LOTS of lube.) Also blowjobs (vanilla flavoured.) I have to be on my best behaviour though before my Wife gets on her knees! If it’s vaginal then no condoms. Wife likes the feeling of my cock too much!
