Curious children

As some of you know our eldest has special needs. Tonight is a particularly bad night for him, we don't know why, and after 2 hours of trying to get him to go to bed without disturbing his brother I am resorting to the youngest sleeping in my bed while captain tries to calm our eldest.

Problem is our youngest has just noticed our toy box and is very curious as to what is in it. Has anyone else been faced with curious children and how did you cope? Just for perspective my children are 6 and 3

Just wait till they reach their teens lol. The thought of parent sex will have them heading for the hills.

Tell them its important paperwork, that usually works.

Sorry to hear you're having a tough evening.

Fortunately we've not yet had a grilling from our kids (8 & 5), our toybox is locked to avoid curious eyes but I've been worried that the ever-observant eldest will notice the under-bed restraints that dangle below the bed frame. Husband says to tell her that they are just holding the bed together!

Our 6 year old asked daddy why we have "ribbons" on the bed 😂😂😂

Ive left stuff out before and get "what's this" I just say grown up things and distract them x

One of our sex tins is locked under the bed and I am just waiting for our 3 year old who is very curious to ask what it is as he likes going under there at times. The bed restraints are kept in wardrobe after my parents nearly seen them when they helped move furniture when we decorated and didn't fancy having to explain that one!

When we moved I had a proper cringe moment as I watched his mum carrying our box that captain had written "private" on. But she read it as printer and asked if we wanted it downstairs...

He said "ooh what's that?" I said a box and he replied "what's in it" managed to distract him though

The fun of kids! I am just waiting to have to explain and just hope he doesn't want to see inside as he is soooo nosey! Just wait till they're older!

I can picture him running down the stairs vibrators in hand laughing his evil laugh. (seriously it's evil)

I hope you give a good answer for when they tell teacher or ask you in a loud voice in the supermarket.

Hopefully they will have forgotten about it by tomorrow.

I was standing outside a shop with my friend and her children which happened to be opposite a high street adult shop (mentioning no names) when one of her children piped up mum is that where you buy your dildos from

Oooh er, red faces all round?

Yes I have a very curios now 8 year old. I'd left my durex saucy strawberry lube on my bedside table he of course noticed it and said "mummy I know what that is, it's for heartburn because it has a red heart on it" to my relief!

We're happily childfree so I don't generally have to worry about such things but I got caught out a few years ago. OH's friend was visiting with his family and their little boy (6ish) wanted to meet our cat who was (as usual) hiding under our bed. I took the wee lad to see the cat but, of course, didn't even think about the handcuffs hanging off the bottom bed posts.

As soon as he spotted those our visiting small person loudly exclaimed "Handcuffs! Wow! Do you and *husband's name* play cops and robbers?!". To which I said, yes, that's what they're for and hustled hm out the room. Thought I'd got away with it until he decided to bring it up later at dinner, loudly, in the middle of a packed restaurant. And people wonder why I never wanted kids! LOL.

Hey browncoats, do your children share a room? I have a similar issue when my youngest won't go down to sleep and the eldest gets all upset from the crying etc. I wish my house was bigger! Hope you have a better evening with him tonight.
Anyway as for toy boxes mine are locked away in a case in the bed draw so they've not been found-yet. I actually dread when they get old and start to become more curious x

Unfortunately they do. I think my eldest needs his own space but there is nothing we can do about it

2 teenagers have things hidden all over the bedroom... Surprised they've not found anything yet. Not really worried about it though.

Lol!!😅 at least its not just me that has a child with an evil laugh when he is up to no good!

I've got teenagers and have things hidden all over my bedroom.
I'm really open and we've talked about these items.
Think they and O. H might get a shock if they knew how large a collection I have. Lol.
