Hello everyone, my guy & I tried pegging today, for my first time ever. It was amazing and I can't wait to do it again!!! However, he didn't like my dildo. It's a "slimline" (3 inches circumference at the middle) and too bendy. We tried a bigger one (4.25 inches circumference) but that one was too big. He wants one that's in between, a little bigger than the slimline and definitely not as flexible, because it kept popping out.
Can anyone recommend a good dildo that fits that description? Also, how is the circumference measured for realistic dildos, since the head is always a little wider? Does the measurement listed in the description mean the middle of the shaft, or the widest point at the head?
Hey clc-lee welcome to the forums! Glad you had a great first time pegging and I’m sure it’s the start of a crazy adventure for you both so have fun! In regards to the circumference question, I believe it’s usually measured at the widest area of the insertable part of a toy, so if the shaft is 2inches but the head of the dildo is 3inches at the widest area it will state a 3 inch girth.
For toys which are good for pegging you may want to think of what your partner prefers, does he like the ridges of a realistic dildo with the bumps etc or a slim and non descriptive toy which isn’t realistic? Some anal dildos may suit a bit better than the standard dildos, for example this one is probably the right size for what your looking for:

The dildo I linked states the circumference is 4.75 inches, when I measured mine it's about 3.5 inches at the tip, 4 inches at the middle of the shaft and 4.75 inches at the thickest part at the bottom of the shaft. So ultimately it feels more like 4 inches than 4.75, depending of course how deep you have it inserted :)
^^ the toy above is great and super smooth so the girth isn’t as scary as some toys around the same size, it may be worthwhile looking at the smooth toys for beginner pegging to start with.

It says it is 4” circumference but with a bit of lube it is easily insertable while being firm with a bit of give, as close to the real thing as they can get in my opinion. The range has different colours, so if you prefer something that doesn’t look realistic in colour the option is there, they are also harness compatible, or if you prefer they attach to a smooth surface without any problems.
We tend to use this size for double pentration scenarios as well, I enjoy using it and we also have its bigger relation, when relaxed enough i’m comfortable using that one. I hope you find something suitable.
I have tried different types and prefer silicone over other product materials, easy to clean, no smells or stickiness issues, rinse in soapy water or toy cleaner, once dry lightly powder and put it back in a storage bag.

Max girth of 5.2 inches, but its a pretty gentle taper from the tip until the max so it stretches you more the deeper you go, but not all at once.
I also have the one Lovebirds linked too, its pretty good too, similar girth (4.75 vs 5.2 of the KC) and similar length. I ultimately prefer the KC as its a little more flexible and follows your body internally unlike the purple one that is quite rigid.
Its easy to look at the specs and get frightened (12 months ago if you said I'd be taking 5.2 girth I'd have thought you mad) but your body really adapts quickly and I think any smaller and that feeling of "is that it" would kick in pretty quickly
