I am struggling to find dildo I like, I can’t really take too much lenght, think its just my anatomy, I am very small, I do like girth, well normal girthy but my search is either leading too: short and fat, extra girthy or really long and perfect girth.
Smaller than i was expecting even with measurements provided.
So do you think there is any point in ordering say an 8inch perfect girth and just inserting what I can?
What way do others go about trying sizes? Is that a possibility, just use the as much length as I can manage?
I can only use silicone so that limits choice, I did chat in the pander to me thread and Brenna found a nice one but it was £99 and no sign of it being on sale.
I think using a measuring tape so you know what you’re ordering would be good for you, the measurements are there for you in the product details.
Try this search for Girthy silicone dildos. Just use the filters in your searches going forward so you narrow it down to what you’re wanting.
Also be mindful that there are penis owners on the forum that may have a circumference themselves of 4" (the size of the dildo you’re referring to) & you saying that you could cry bc of how skinny that is, could be upsetting for them.

I find the Lovehoney shop search filters to be mostly reliable if you have a good idea what you’re looking for. You’ve shared one dildo you tried and found to be too small (I assume you mean not girthy enough for you), but unless you know the girth you want exactly, you’ll just be trial and error until you find it, right?
We’ve spent years building up our stable of dildos (although still quite modest by the standards of some collections seen here) and have over a dozen of various size, shape, and realism for use by my wife and I. And it’s taken that trial and error to discover limits in length and width and shape and texture (firmness, ridges, veins). There are some that are rarely ever used now, and some that were dormant for years and now are favorites for pegging or anal play because she didn’t love them vaginally.
So… yeah, unless you know exactly what you’re looking for (maybe from having a past partner and knowing their measurements) you’ll just have to try some different things along the scale.
But, in answer to your question about whether to just order an 8" that you think is the right girth for you - kinda depends on how you’re going to use it, but having a little extra length to hold onto and help with maneuvering, whether you’re using it manually or sticking it to a surface and trying to ride it - a little extra length probably won’t hurt (literally) as long as you’re careful. Also worth noting that an 8" with balls will fit and feel different than without.
Just editing to add: I find the search/filter function of the LH store to be pretty reliable. You should be able to pretty easily filter by material, length, and circumference to to find something that fits your needs, as long as the descriptions are current. For what it’s worth, there is an 8" Silicone without balls that says it’s 4.5" circumference, but is more like 5 just behind the head and pushes over 6 at the widest insertable bit at the base - but I was counting on it being bigger than described based on the reviews and was pleased when we got it. So, there might be a few that aren’t totally accurate descriptions. Just saying.

@CurvyCandy2 My FB does it for hygene reasons, even though she cleans the dildo thoroughly too, I do it as I’ve found as I use them anally PVC dildos can absorb the smell, it doesn’t take anything away from the pleasure and makes cleaning up a bit easier. X
The easy button is just buy the girth you want and only insert what feels comfortable. Longer is better in that situation because having more the hold gives more control. We reecently got the Lovehoney Realistic Silicone Suction Cup Dildo 8 Inch but it appears to be out of stock now.
Yup, that’s one of my new favorites. Wifey has rare interest in taking the entire length (she says I get a little overzealous when using it with oral) but it is perfect for DP as the extra length makes it easier for me to reach-around and maneuver. And she does have to be pretty warmed up to appreciate the girth, but when she is it’s glorious to watch the stretch.
