You might be lucky, might just be filler cracks (we've got a couple in our ceilings, the ceiling is still solid). There may still be a good strong wooden structure to mount a swing to! Don't just screw it into any place in the ceiling though. If it's like ours then it's only plasterboard and not very strong. Oh and be careful for wires. I'm sure we're all keen on a nice buzz now and again, but that kind of buzz isn't nice!
I should add, the biggest crack we have is in the kitchen ceiling, which is a new ceiling we put up last year when we first bought the house. I know it's just a filler crack because where it is, there was a gap which we bridged with filler... which has cracked over the course of a year.
Oh and I like a bit of DIY (there's something for someone to use for a sexual innuendo)
