Do I need to douche several hours after a bowel movement for playtime with anal beads? I’m talking about four hours or so after a bowel movement. Thanks.

Hello there,

That is a good question, generally speaking if you have had a healthy bowl movement you don’t have to douche at all however many people still prefer to for extra peace of mind, I think you can douche at any time but it is recommended to wait at least an hour after douching before playing, after an hour or so, as long as your body is feeling ok (your body knows best) you’ll be good to go; clean hands, short nails, clean toys and plenty of lube of course, listen to your body and have fun :slight_smile:

I had a bowel movement about four hours before playtime and I started playtime by fingering my bum and I use my middle finger for fingering my bum mainly or I go in with my index and middle finger. I felt some poo when I fingered using my index finger and thought ‘well that’s typical!’ I was tempted to stop and douche but I’d just started to get myself going and was aroused.

I was quite surprised that when I pulled out the beads (fifty shades of grey ones) that there was hardly any poo on them but I hate the smell of it and I got some on my PVC bedsheet which I’d laid on my bed before playtime. Was glad of the PVC sheet as it’s so easy to clean up.

As per your recommendation I had short nails, clean hands and clean toys before playtime! Used plenty of lube too!

I’ll always douche before playtime at least a few hours before as it feels better and I feel cleaner and not anxious about getting poo on my beads or bedsheets etc.

I love anal sex with my beads but just hate getting poo on them, myself or my bedsheets etc.

I’d say as everyone’s stomachs work at different speeds and contributing if you’ve eaten during that time, it all depends… best way to find out is to try see for yourself if you feel like you need to douche or not :slightly_smiling_face:

This is Al’s OH writing. We never douche there. As long as we’re clean after a movement. Usually shower first anyhow. I’ve never seen anything on his penis when he takes it out of my butt - other than his cum.

Samantha here. We have anal sex reguarly and i have never douched. I will go to the loo, then have a shower and use a dildo up there just to make sure. Then pop a butt plug in so its easier when it comes to taking his penis.
