I previously asked how ebay verifies your age, and it seems like it’s unlikely that they will. But today I realised that lovehoney toys on amazon say that you have to be 18+ to buy them, but the warning on the page is different compared to buying things like knives, which says ‘age verification required’. Could this mean that there’s no age verification when buying them on amazon, outside of checking the DoB on your account? Weirdly they let you buy alcohol without mentioning age at all, yet a safe silicone butt plug needs the warning. Funnily enough the 3 inch version doesn’t have a warning, but the 4 and 5 have one, lol. They probably just forgot to put it.
Here’s the warning for lovehoney stuff: “Not for sale to persons under the age of 18. By placing an order for this product, you declare that you are 18 years of age or over. This item must be used responsibly and appropriately.”
Here’s the warning for a knife: “Age Verification Required: This product is not for sale to people under the age of 18 and will require an online age verification check.”
Also, has anyone had any bad experiences buying sex toys on amazon? I’ve read a few comments on the internet saying that amazon sometimes leaves off the brown box, and just sticks a label onto the package directly, which is terrifying to be honest considering how it has a big picture of the toy and a description of it right on the box, because then the driver knows what you bought, and anyone who sees the package first also knows.
