Do Lovehoney toys on amazon require age verification on delivery?

I previously asked how ebay verifies your age, and it seems like it’s unlikely that they will. But today I realised that lovehoney toys on amazon say that you have to be 18+ to buy them, but the warning on the page is different compared to buying things like knives, which says ‘age verification required’. Could this mean that there’s no age verification when buying them on amazon, outside of checking the DoB on your account? Weirdly they let you buy alcohol without mentioning age at all, yet a safe silicone butt plug needs the warning. Funnily enough the 3 inch version doesn’t have a warning, but the 4 and 5 have one, lol. They probably just forgot to put it.

Here’s the warning for lovehoney stuff: “Not for sale to persons under the age of 18. By placing an order for this product, you declare that you are 18 years of age or over. This item must be used responsibly and appropriately.”

Here’s the warning for a knife: “Age Verification Required: This product is not for sale to people under the age of 18 and will require an online age verification check.”

Also, has anyone had any bad experiences buying sex toys on amazon? I’ve read a few comments on the internet saying that amazon sometimes leaves off the brown box, and just sticks a label onto the package directly, which is terrifying to be honest considering how it has a big picture of the toy and a description of it right on the box, because then the driver knows what you bought, and anyone who sees the package first also knows.

In the states, there is no “age verification upon delivery” for anything that I am aware of, including sex toys or weapons. That is done at the time of purchase, if it is done at all.

However, you are correct that Amazon will often ship a manufacturer box “as is” meaning without putting it in another box. The manufacturer box, and therefore what it contains, is displayed to all. I have yet to figure out how Amazon decides what goes in an Amazon box and what does not. Occassionally I have been given a choice, but not always.

If you want it shipped discretely you are probably better off ordering directly from Lovehoney

This is why I buy directly from the Lovehoney website + for me the packaging is fantastic

I couldn’t tell you, maybe reach out to either LH customer care from the website or see if there’s a way to contact them as the seller on Amazon and ask?

Same as eBay, no delivery driver will be checking your id.

In terms of putting the label on the outer packaging, it depends who is shipping the item. On the item page it will say “fulfilled by …..” if it says Lovehoney, it will come in Lovehoney’s standard packaging because it comes from them. If it says that it is fulfilled by Amazon, it would likely depend on what you order but I would be surprised if they just stuck à label on a sex toy box, particularly if you aren’t ordering something that comes in a big box. If you are concerned, buy more than one item and then they will package them together.

As for fakes, if it’s fulfilled by Lovehoney, it comes direct from them. If it is fulfilled by Amazon there is a chance, but it’s small. Fakes tend to be on bigger volume sellers. If is lists the item as Lovehoney but isn’t fulfilled by either Amazon or Lovehoney, don’t buy it

Yeah, it’s sold by lovehoney, fulfilled by amazon. I will probably buy it with something mundane, too, and hope it gets bundled together in the same box, some lube too. I think you can check whether items are shipped together or not at checkout.

@jct7474 im sure Amazon doesn’treally care all that much, as long as they get a sale.

Most I’ve ever had was them take a photo to verify delivery. And there I was in PJs and my wifes slippers.

On regular items the only address on the label will be yours and the only logo, Amazons.

The trick to avoid Amazon sending you an item in just its own packaging is to buy more than one thing and use the same/Amazon day delivary service. They seem to always package them together. You don’t have to buy anything expensive, just something that can be delivered at the same time so they have to bundle them up.

LHs official boxes used to be quite obvious, simply because they seemed to use the same boxes for everything, didn’t use tape and had the same pink sticker on. Our loft is rammed with used boxes and the older LH ones stand out a mile.

These days the packaging is plain brown, with brown tape and a label that only mentions your address. So much better and looks far less conspicuous. If you get sent a test item it does usually have an LH Trading label on so I wouldn’t recommend that if you want to be discrete.

Do you know if there’s a difference between the regular amazon order and the ‘fewer boxes, fewer deliveries’ option? I put some items in the basket, and they are all lumped together, saying that you can deliver them on the same day, but then there’s also an option for ‘fewer boxes’. Part of me is afraid of picking the ‘fewer boxes’ option, because what happens if they take it as a hint to avoid using a box entirely?

My understanding is that they’ll wait till they have them all and then lump them in one bigger box rather than a handful of smaller ones. Sometimes they’ll stick them in a paper bag/envelope if they’re all small. Having them in one box is easier on their delivery guy than him having to ensure he’s got all the correct ones together.

Man if I were as worried about being discrete as you seem to be I would just order directly from the Lovehoney site. Is there a reason you are set on ordering from Amazon?

I just hit order. I ordered it with something else, and also paid a little bit extra for gift-wrapping, just in case. I also chose ‘amazon day delivery’, which seems to increase the chance they’ll be shipped together. I’m nervous, but hopefully it’ll go fine.

It just arrived. Everything went fine. No ID was required. It came in a single brown amazon box, along with another small item I ordered in the same box. Inside the box, the toy was in its gift wrap, and inside the gift wrap was a small box wrapped in gray plastic, which had a label of the product name on it. So even if I didn’t order gift wrap, the box itself would still be mostly discreet, other than the small label.

I went with the ‘booty buddy’, and if I’m being honest, I’m a little bit disappointed so far. When the specs say it has 3.5 inches insertable length, I didn’t know that included the curve, so height-wise, it’s only about 3 inches of insertable length. It’s about as thick is my thumb. It’s small enough to fit in the palm of my hand, and I’m 5 foot 5, so it’s pretty small.

I think the main problem though, was that I haven’t bought lube yet, and saliva isn’t cutting it. Lube should be a much easier purchase now that I’ve actually bought a toy and kind of gotten over that fear.

Or it could just be my anatomy not working well for the toy. I didn’t feel much stimulation, or much of anything really. I suppose it’s just like it someone stuck a finger in, and just left it there, which isn’t bad, but isn’t necessarily the most stimulating thing. It doesn’t have the filling feeling I imagine you get from a butt plug, and that’s no movement that you might get from something vibrating or moving in and out.

I think another part of the issue is that it’s fairly soft, so you can’t really manoeuvre it from the base, so it’d just be constant pressure, not something you can easily wiggle around. I’ll give it some time (and lube) though. Maybe I just need to explore. If not, it’ll still be a good learning experience, and I’ll be a lot more confident buying toys in the future.

Update (TMI, details about masturbation):

I just had another go, and used precum as lube, and it was a lot nicer, so when I get some actual lube, it’ll be great. I put it in, and noticed that if I sat down, and kind of moved around a bit, it felt very good, so I sat on my chair and moved my hips around while masturbating, and it felt a lot better than just sticking it in and not touching/moving it around.

Yeah as I said in my review it doesn’t do an awful lot initially for me, but as I reach orgasm, the prostate gets ready to do its thing, my erection gets harder which in turn shifts the prostate and the nerves that run down it, and it all comes together with the BB perfectly placed. I’m 6’0.5” with long legs.

With all these toys its very much down to your own anatomy and you’ll only find out by experimenting. And always use anal lube. It lasts much longer and is thicker. Made for the job.

The BB will just sit there. Its not motorised, so you’re reliant on either moving it yourself, squeezing your PC, or letting nature take its course. That, along with one other, are the only ones that hit that spot when it counts for me. Its not a P-Spot orgasm, they require a good hour of subtle work to get and I’ve never got there, but its an intense combination that I can’t get any other way.
