My wife has suggested to me a number of times recently that she would like me to wear thong underwear as she thinks it would look good and also be exciting for her, as well as her saying I would like them. I’m not against the idea in theory and she says that there are plenty of men now that do wear thongs and she knows some of her girlfriends partners do.
Is it more common for men to wear thongs now, do other ladies like them and do any other guys enjoy wearing them?

Should have added that I’m mid 30’s, so I don’t know if this is more popular with particular age groups?
I wear thongs occasionally my partner likes it, but it is personal preference some like it, some don’t. if I am working I always wear boxers over the top so not to subject anyone else to it.
If you look in Your Photos you’ll see lots of male members upload pictures wearing lingerie, including thongs. I think it’s pretty common these days 
I do love wearing them but I’ve not got into the habit of wearing them all the time - I like to wear them to show off to the OH (or make her laugh!!) but I do love the feeling of them and like wearing them around the house too - there’s something nice about the right material rubbing against your inner thigh!!! And if the OH ever said she’d love me to wear them more often then it would be a no brainer!!! 
I tend to wear male G-strings as its more my preference, but I do have a few thongs that I wear depending on what I feel like on the day. All for my enjoyment as I’m single.
Situation depending but I will wear them for myself sometimes others because my oh finds it a turn on give it a try it say only you will know if you like it who cares what others think.

Old guy here , I wear thongs , string bikini , panties and if riding in real cold weather , bikini briefs with a full ass coverage . After about 16 and I started buying my own underwear I did away with tidy whiteies and can not stand boxers , they give zero support and if hot out cause your scrotum to stick to your leg . Any active guy needs a little support .

I’m 41 and straight and have worn thongs every day for bout 5 years. Most of them are men’s which were bought online as really hard to find in uk shops these days. I have a small number of girls ones too. I wear them under everything so jeans, work trousers, leggings. I like the fact that they hold everything on place but don’t bunch up at the back like briefs and I haven’t worn boxers for at least 20 years as never found them comfortable. The fact that they seem a bit naughty or unconventional is part of the attraction I think!
I am in my 40s married but a thong is a no no, definitely uncomfortable to fit it all in. If my wife suggested to wear knickers I would definitely say YES to that 
Here’s how I see it. Your wife has suggested it and told you it will excite her. End of story. Don’t worry about what anyone else thinks or does. She’s the only one that matters on this.
(For the record, I do occasionally wear one, particularly the one my wife bought me!)

my wife has no preference on what underwear I wear,

I agree with @stockingslover1 If my OH asked me to wear thongs or other underwear to excite her, they would be on. I would give it a go and see how you and she like it
I do sometimes, I’ve got a couple of Lovehoney men’s thongs, i do like the look and feel of ladies thongs but they don’t always have enough room to keep the goods under control.
