Do you share, learning about sexuality

As I have been dealing with our relationship, I have been doing a lot of learning about sexuality and intimacy within couples. And I am beginning t find some answers and ideas that may be useful. Have others here done this kind of research, and if so, how and when did you share your discoveries with your OH, or have you kept them private.

Always share - never keep it to yourself

In a safe loving relationship it’s easy to discuss and try these things - some you like and some you dislike

In the past we have discussed and tried

Anal , pegging, domination, double penetrating, open air sex, cross dressing, dungeon play., foot worship, using paddle / cane/ hot wax, mutual masterbation, dirty talk , reading porn magazine - loved them all

Tried fisting, messy (sploshing) porn films - did not like

I share anything and everything with my partners. I’m too chatty not to say anything :joy:

At this point, I feel sharing my recent discoveries might feel like pressure to her which will certainly cause her to pull away, not the way will be helpful.
In your relationship you have shared everything. We have NOT which is a great deal of the problem. In the past most of the time I have shared my feelings about things sexual was when I was unhappy, and was complaining about it. That tactic is unhelpful as I now know.

We always take the advice of: timing, tone and turf. We try not to talk about anything too serious right before or after sex and also try to time talking things out when it is appropriate. Tone is never accusatory or demeaning. We approach it as a fair and honest question or statement. Now the turf part, we never really discuss anything too serious or related to sex in the bedroom. We talk about it on walks or in passing while cleaning the house. This way the other person can process and give an honest answer. This way they never feel “trapped”. We also follow the communication is lubrication. If I am angry or upset, and same for her, we discuss it. If there is something we want to try, we talk it out. It was not always like this. She was really guarded due to her upbringing and I was an open book. It does take kindness, openness and consideration from both parties. It took a lot of work to get to where we are. We have learned a lot about each other and about ourselves. You’re not alone and I hope you guys can work on it.

My thoughts are talking about sex is a way of trying to make our marriage more enjoyable, for both of us. Unwillingness to have a discussion, wherever it happens, is simply destructive to the relationship. Communicating the importance of being intimate, in all its forms, not just intercourse, is a way of putting a priority on how we can be more connected. Everybody wins.

I really want to discuss and open up about everything with my partner. We have been together 10 years and probably only had a handful of conversations when we really open up and discuss what we want sexually. I have tried so many times but she either isn’t in the mood to discuss or things it’s a bit silly to talk about these things. I sometimes think I’m going mad - any help or suggestions on how I can get my partner to open up so that we can discuss these things somewhat regularly and really open up to each other - I feel there’s still a few things she really doesn’t know about me - I think she doesn’t want to know :frowning:

We bring things up quite alot but make it quite casual, usually if we see an advert for a toy or something online that we havent tried or talked about then that will prompt us to talk about it

I have been together with my wife for 25 years. In all that time we have only had a handful of discussions about sex, and most of them were fairly casual, not really serious. Unfortunately we are nearing the end of our sexual times, being both in our 70’s. There is still time to try to improve what we have, that is the best we can do. I have no secrets as far as opening up, each party needs to be on board and have serious about their needs, no shame. I wish I had started this openness years ago, but things were not as difficult as they are now. I wish you the best. Don’t wait until,it is too late to begin communicating.

We talk about sex quite often, what we’d like to try, different places, positions, what lingerie mrs bustywife will wear. We nearly always end up having sex trying out what was discussed, which is always fun
