Emily Clarkson campaigns to ‘free the nipple’. Sponsored by Lovehoney. Hypocritical?

They’re website it’s ok.
but the forum it’s not.

Does that help?

nope.
that just seems to me like someone has a problem with something.
and punishing everyone for it.
Would you make a 17 year old kid have the same bedtime as a 5 year old?

Perhaps reading the whole of that topic will provide more context?

I think describing it as being designed to punish people is a stretch. :slightly_smiling_face:

Ah, so it’s a case of men being responsible enough to show their nipples, but women are not. :slightly_smiling_face: I don’t think Brenna considered that. I’ll be interested to see if that changes her mind. :slightly_smiling_face:

doubling down on a double standard of body shaming only creates more body shaming

I have not seen any evidence of that while the rule has been in place. If this were extended to elbows to further emphasise the point, I can’t see people suddenly becoming ashamed of their elbows because of it.

This is getting a bit one-on-one now, so I’ll let other people chime in with their thoughts. :+1:

Happy to chime in;

No it doesn’t. Yes, we would all prefer it if Men’s and Woman’s nipples fell under the same legislation and could both be shown without the site being designated as containing adult content. Currently they don’t. Banning Male nipples emphasises how stupid this is and, as is shown here, promotes doscussion about it and about how the legislation needs changing. THAT is the point!

What an incredibly stupid statement! A 17 year old and 5 year old are not the same. Men’s and Women’s nipples are. The equivalent statement would be would I make a 5 year boy and a 5 year old girl have the same bedtime and the answer is yes, I would.

I think the LH policy is currently appropriate and until the overriding rules change for females then it should stay. We all know where to look on the internet if we want to see pictures of nipples and more! The aim of keeping this forum as a source of useful information and discussion is more important than the freedom to show body parts!

and no female nipples and male nipples ARE NOT the same that is stupid.
It makes me wonder if you even took basic biology

Are you sure about that @Peggingand_fun ? I think you’ll find biologically there is no difference, the physical size of the nipple and ducts is only due to the effects of hormones during puberty.

yes that’s the difference.
i don’t have boobs around my nipples or milk coming out of them

How do I cancel my account here I’m tired of dealing with intolerant people ?

Although just to be pedantic, breasts aren’t actually banned or covered by any legislation; it is purely the nipple. Also, surely the fact female nipples can potentially produce milk makes them a functional body part, whereas men’s nipples are purely for decoration/pleasure so if any nipples should be banned, it really should be male ones……

I personally am happy with the current forum rule (happy, that is, given the absurd social context where photos showing female nipples risk the hosting website being classified as pornographic and therefore subject to other forms of censorship).
The latter situation is the really crazy thing, surely? Responding with the ironic approach of censoring all nipples, regardless of gender and species, at least keeps this topic humorous and open for discussion. Else why are we here?
I too would prefer all nipples to be uncensored, just to make that perfectly clear. But if we have to censor any nipples, let’s censor them all. It would be very unfair to censor only human female nipples.

Actually, I’m happy that there is no nipples/nudity here. I know some comments addressed that the article is misleading anyway… But to me the concept of free the nipple is about being more equal… So I’m actually just has happy for all nipples to be censored or none.

That said, I like this forum because I can read and talk about things related to sex and get advice etc I personally think the admins do an amazing job of keeping potential creepers at bay - not allowing nudity or overtly graphic discussions… While a boob here or there obviously wouldn’t ruin anything, it does have the potential for throwing the site up on the wrong side of search engines and potentially encourages behaviour and attention that is unwanted by many.
