Dr Ruth was probably the first live exposure I ever had to actual sex related ideas, beyond porn. She talked about things in a very adult and shameless manner. Just a delight to listen to.
@Latestr8 I remember picking her up on late night radio.
I struggle with really stupid things (over use of the word ‘like’ and loads of questioning intonation) - which stops me from listening to a lot of American podcasts. There was one, ‘Talking Kinky’ a British one, that I really enjoyed. Was a man and a woman, but the woman seems to have left now, and the episodes have been sporadic since. Listening to them, can’t help but think he’s using AI bots as fake interviews. It’s a real shame. They covered different kinks in a lot of detail.
I find some of the podcasts I am listening to have a lot of useless chatter, and not enough actual content and discussion. Finding a good one has been hard. That is why I liked Dr. Ruth’s program, it got right to the heart of the discussion, probably because they had limited time, and needed to get on with things.
I just found a different series of podcasts to listen to. It is “ The Sexual Wellness Sessions”, and seem to be very good. Less self promotional content and useless chatter as some of the others, and more actual informative content.
I really miss the Lovehoney podcasts.
They were out before podcasts became something that every celebrity does, but the mix of insights into toy, facts, stories within a very funny setting isn’t matched by any podcast since.
There used to be another called sex pots, but that also stopped.
So if anyone has any fun ones to listen to that cover sex / toys do let me know. The good thing about Lovehoney one was it was male and female presenters so you go the best of both worlds and I would love something similar if anyone has anything.
If not, please @Lovehoney_Brenna can you suggest brining it back at the next staff meeting ? ![]()
There was actually a radio ( I know, a long time ago ) program that I could pick up from the Midwest that had a married couple who took sex questions. I do not remember the name of the show, but I listened to it a lot. It was back when I was married to my ex wife, so early 1980’s maybe. It was aired late at night, and I would listen to it in bed. It gave me a lot of information, but not enough to help the sexual issues that plagued my relationship with her. Of course she would have needed to listen to it for that, not likely to happen.
Loved the podcast and how to Videos. Annabelle Knight and Jess were great together, giving humor and openness to sex education. I think Lovehoney needs to go back in this direction somewhat as it made them a standout as a sex-positive company who also valued education and not just selling us sex toys and lube.
