Fetish Fair

Giving me cool biker chick vibes!

We’ve just got home from the Fetish Fair.

It was quite small. 12 to 15 stalls split roughly equally between stalls selling impact or sensation toys and jewellery and trinkets. No clothing sadly.

I think the cold weather and the open doors put people off from wearing anything risqué but some interesting people there.

It would have been nice to have a communal area to sit and socialise but the venue didn’t have the space for this.

There was a talk on Primal Play which was very informative since I knew nothing about it at all.

We bought a pair of earrings and a new crop for me.

Brilliant @rockstar

I went to a well known high street sex store today to pick up an order. I always feel a bit self conscious previously and thought I would again but surprisingly I wasn’t. I picked up a lovely wet look dress in the sale for my Miss then spent a few minutes around the BDSM section. A shop assistant asked me if I wanted any help, this previously would’ve rattled me but I politely said I’m ok and kept going.

Went to pick up my order at the till and picked up a vibrating cock ring and had a chat with the assistant about it.

Felt proud of myself after.

But not on your level @rockstar - kudos to you and your wonderful wife

@SubCharles i generally avoid that high street lingerie / sex toy shop after the service me and my husband got about 6 months ago

We were in the shop going through the sale rail and an assistant came up to ask if she could help - I said I’m after size - 14/16 knickers but a 44 inch bra for my husband- she looked at my husband and just walked away laughing

We made a formal complaint as this made both me and my husband feel bad - they apologised but I felt this was terrible for a lingerie store especially now that in their adverts they have men in lingerie

Just to say both hubby and I used to be a regulars at SWAMP and both of us used to wear smart black. Actually that was the same time that I discovered I have quite a profound fetish for military boots but that’s besides the point :joy: I hiope you have fun!

I know the event you were at, it was my stag do at the weekend so couldn’t go, however we are hoping to go to the November one. I know a couple of the traders there from the North East scene. There is a very healthy BDSM/Alternative scene in the NE and I’d say you’d be more than welcome at the events. Many of them are done at an establishment in County Durham, the leaders of the community are respectful, fun and great at weeding out any toxic elements. If you’re interested I can send you more details.

Where can I find out about the other NE events?

I live in County Durham.

I noticed it mentioned earlier in the thread about Fetlife, but if you aren’t on there that’s a good start then search for ThePlayMunch on there. They run a monthly event where likeminded people gather, some socialise, some play in the dungeons. But it’s very friendly and a good way to step a toe in the water. The first half hour is for new people to get shown around and to meet the organisers/explained the rules. There’s often a talk and always a few sellers selling toys, tools and implements.

Edit: for clothing, generally arrive in “muggle” clothing, there’s a locker room where you can change and lock stuff (free of charge). But maybe your first event just go to see what you think and you’ll soon get the vibe.

How do you go about finding them?

Fetlife, searching kink market or fetish market on social media or even on Google. Sometimes websites like eventbrite too
