Fifty shades of grey Vs 365 days!

I have heard plenty of mixed reviews on which set of films people prefer more. I have watched all, and have to say I will always stick with fifty shades! What are people’s opinions on both?

Neither. I much prefer the film the secretary. It’s the original mr grey.

Never finished ‘The Secretary’ or seen ‘365 Days’ the 50 shades series was ok I guess. Then I was watching ‘Bonding’ as this was light hearted and funny, on Netflix and it suggested a Korean film called ‘Love and Leashes’ which I really enjoyed. So me personally would put that above 50 shades

Wifey & I watch a LOT of films. We found the 50 Shades series to be mildly entertaining but overall just not that great. We watched the trailer for 365 Days and that was enough to say “no thanks”.

I can understand the fantasy side of them both, but for us they’re just C-grade soft porn with a decent budget.

Secretary was a much better movie. Not everyone’s cup of tea, but Maggie Gyllenhaal and James Spader are fantastic.

I enjoy them all. A favourite of mine is the 1997 film Preaching to the Perverted (also won’t be everyones cuppa tea)

I’ve got reviews on both on my blog (probably can’t link here, unfortunately) but I am 100% for FSOG, it’s also kind of how my husband got his nickname. Lots of cross overs between our lives and the film eg. hubby also lost his Mum when he was 4 and I helped him find her memorial tablet, as Ana does in FSF. I’m also brunette blue eyes, witty and a writer, like Ana is. I got in trouble for it at the time but it stuck since and it’s now our brand name :joy:

ETA: still not forgotten the look he gave me during the helicopter scene

Hi. I really Enjoyed Bonding (I started to talked to an old friend after watching it :see_no_evil:) you know? Forgiveness. Now that you mentioned that I think I’ll watch Love & Leashes, also got suggested. Take care :slightly_smiling_face:

I’ve never watched it! A few people have recommended so no doubt I’ve added it to my watch list

Get them watched! All of them are on Netflix at the minute I’m sure which is pretty rare, I really want to read the books too!

I found the FSOG books as my libido was returning and they helped open up a whole new world for me and my OH. My OH thought the FSOG films were better than he thought they were going to be. He started to watch 365 and stopped it - really terrible acting with some badly acted sex scenes. I’ve watched a couple on my own since and he was right :joy:.

I’d watch the FSOG movies again, but never the 365.

I would recommend reading the 3 FSOG books from Christian’s perspective.

Not sure that you can compare both films, due to the distinctly different story lines.

If had to choose it would by 365days, Fifty Shades is a bit contrived.

Is there a film called “365 Days?” Never heard of it. 50 shades is meh.

I’ve got them saved on my Netflix watchlist and had them on there for nearly a year hahaha

Funny thing it came up in our class last night, it’s seems to be held in fairly low regard by many in the community.
