First time anal

What preparation should I take for first time anal
Diet douching etc

@martynpickering90 first time don’t expect to get too far (unless you have been in training with toys etc).

Lots of lube and take it slow.

Never did any prep myself other than being really clean externally x

Lots of lube, I personally like to douche 1 hour before but that’s mine and my partners personal preference.
Lube up, go slow, breathe and relax. I would also recommend some play with plugs and fingers before hand as well, having a warm shower or bath with help you relax. My rule any pain you stop and move on to aftercare, also make sure you communicate with your partner.

Lovehoney actually did an anal sex ed video

but I echo what others have said: take things real slow, go easy, use lots of lube

We don’t douche but my wife does prepare by wearing a plug before hand and we have a small syringe to get lube deep inside her before we start.

Wife normally has a bath or good shower in that area
We normally use plenty of lube and a butt plug to start with
If you haven’t got one, we are also just use the lube and gone slow going in and out, gradually going deeper each time
But plenty of lube and be relaxed and enjoy the pleasure

Prep, lube are essential. But the main thing is to teach your brain to not clench or reject the insertion. This can be achieved by using gradually larger butt plugs. That’s how I (male) progressed my anal play to accept larger toys.
My wife could never handle anal, she tried many times, to the point where she was nearly in tears. I felt terrible, but didn’t know it was so painful for her at the time, she said she wanted to do it to please me. That just made me feel even worse.
We agreed that we would just have to accept that it would not happen.

A few years later we were browsing this site, and seen numbing lubes. She said she would try again. We were wary of numbing lubes, because pain is your body’s way of telling you something is being damaged.
Anyway we got the numbing lube and also some silicone lube, and it went ok but she was still a little uncomfortable. So we agreed that ok we’ve done it now, cross it off the list and never again.

A little later we found a anal dilator kit on here. It has 5 different sizes, you can start with the smallest and work your way up. This helps apply lube where its needed and also train the brain to relax.
The middle size is around my girth, so she used the first 3 sizes and it was a game-changer. We used regular lovehoney discover anal lube. No pain, entry was super easy, and as long as I didn’t go fully in (at the start at least) she was fine with it.
She doesn’t get pleasure out of it, its purely for my pleasure but at least its not painful anymore. Also, this helps ensure everything is super clean, the dilators have a small hole in the tip and any matter that is present ends up on the inside of the dilator and can be rinsed under a tap.
We now do anal 2 or 3 times a month as a treat for me.

The kit I got was the “Size Matters Magnum Ease-In Anal Dilator Kit”.
I don’t see it here any more, maybe if you contact customer care they might re-stock it.

One final note, when inserting anything anally, first push out a little to open yourself up a bit. This will make initial insertion easier. But as soon as it is in, don’t push or clench at all, try to hold your muscles in a neutral position. The reason for this is you basically have 2 sphincters in your ass. The outer one we all know, but there is another one a inch or 2 inside. Pushing out opens the outer one but closes the inner one. Clenching does the opposite. So holding your muscles in a neutral position ensures both are relaxed enough for easy insertion. The more you play the easier it is to train your brain not to clench or push.

Hope this helps.

LOADS of lube like a big amount of lube especially for your first try, if you’re uncomfortable please stop because I don’t want to put you off but especially for your first try it can be painful or not very comfortable also if you’ve got plugs then I’d personally suggest to use them first

As everyone seems to be saying loads of lube, better with water based over silicon, butt plugs would help open the area to ease yourself with starting, any pain totally stop!!
