I recently purchased a fleshlight after many reviews and talk of how amazing it was, as with many of you I'm sure I put in a good amount of research, $50 is a lot of money just to flop ....
So the product arrived it was one of the ice collection meaning you could see through the the plastic as you were using it, don't believe it though it hardly like looking through a window, any way within hours of it's arrival it was being put to use.
So as I get down to business I begin to realise how much hassle this toy has just become firstly you have to apply lube to the toy not really a problem but try washing it off when you have finished ..... Second problem is where to dry the thing after you have finished a big see through cock sleeve drying on the towel rack a sure fire conversation piece !!!
The point is this toy is just to much hassle if the sensation was something mind blowingly different then ok maybe but the truth is it's just not ....
It feels that manufactures are trying to push new ideas and concepts down us but the truth is what's wrong with a good old fashioned hand job.
I know I'm missing the point as some of you will say yeah but it's all about the fun and excitement of trying new products and experimenting, and I agree however it's always refreshing to just pull back (excuse the pun) and find pleasure in simplicity ....
I am 100% with you on this product. I had one used it a few times then threw it away. I mean the sensation was not THAT good and the preparations to get it heated, get it cleaned, get it dry it just didn't do it for me. The more cheap strokers are as such better, not so much trouble using them and not too much hazzle should they be missused somehow since they are cheap in comparison. Sure they do not feel as good but the whole fleshlight is truly not as amazing as everyone say.
Have ofc only tried the one (was a fleshlight flight) so could be another might do more as there are those models with mouths and similar that could tick on a mental plane to be worth it but the flight was not.
Nice to hear I'm not the only one after such hype almost feels wrong to slate it, I have seen those other ones and to be honest it just angered me further flesh lights modeled on porn stars please ...
The manufacture gets the last laugh as usual, do they think us guys will collect a set of there favourite porn stars orifices and us them like a game of top trumps .....
But I do agree with the beads they look like fun have yet to try them
Well my partner was a little put off by it too duely down to the way it's packaged and presented which I can understand I guess suppose it would be odd me using a vibrator on her modeled and marketed on another guys chap .... I know you can get them but I guess question is by making the toy non descript does it become more inclusive for both couples involved
There is nothing wrong with a good old fashioned 'hand shandy' but to be honest, and i'm sure i'm not the only one, it does get boring after a while, so it's nice to mix things up a bit.
Using things like Fleshlights, Flip Holes and the whole manner of other masturbator sleeves requires a certain amount of imagination and effort. Every single sleeve (apart from the Tenga Ona-Cups) are going to need you to apply lube, clean and then dry before storage. The fleshlight is not unique in this sense - and in this house, having a masturbation sleeve out drying isn't a massive problem because we rarely receive visitors and if we do, I pop the sleeve in the airing cupboard and no one would know (it's not like every tom dick or harry that comes to visit is going to start poking around my cupboards - it's not 'come dine with me').
The fleshlight is designed to last a long time, which is why you have to go through the hassle of washing it and drying it etc. And there are a multitude of sensations to choose from as well. Personally the biggest problem with the fleshlight isn't it's sensations or it's cumbersome cleaning process. It's the fact the unit is so damn big and heavy - that is the only reason I wouldn't recommend a fleshlight.
I would suggest (if you haven't already) trying the Tenga Ona-cups. Tenga have got some of the most innovative sleeve designs on the market at the moment, and these come pre-lubed and are disposable - so no more hassling with lube or fearing someone spotting it 'out to dry' - and they are relatively cheap too.
And I agree with Stuburns - Fleshlights and sleeves in general are so much more fun when used with someone else.
I did think about trying a tenga they do look like fun, however at $8 a shot for the disposal ones I have considered other options( a warm apple pie ) lol
I really rate the flesh lights and as David says imagination helps. These toys aren't designed to help you move on from manual stimulation but to vary your experiences and as with everything certain changes appeal to certain people. I actually love trying different items and I am particularly grateful sex toy companies are expanding their ranges and ideas to help stimulate the male form.
Good to hear some differing options and Its great it works for some apologies my weird phone does not have the pound sign, but thats what distributes me more there so expensive.
I have to say I'm a big fan of Fleshlights / Fleshjacks, and if you get a texture that suits you then it can deliver some great sensations.
I totally agree with you about the maintenance though; washing them out and waiting for them to dry fully before putting them away can be a big hassle, especially if you have one of the clear "ice" sleeves, as those go really tacky after washing and you need to dust them with corn flour. This is the number one reason why I don't use my Fleshlights as much as I'd like. There's always a mini debate in your mind before getting one out; is a really good masturbation session worth the inconveniece of the clean-up afterwards? Sometimes it's easier to just opt for your hand and a box of tissues.
A good alternative to the Fleshlight is the Tenga Flip Hole, which is so much easier to clean and dry as you can open the whole thing into two halfs. I recommend the White for its texture but I wasn't so keen on the Red.
As far as someone mentioning that Fleshlights are cumbersome, well yes they are a little so, but if you want a good handsfree experience then I'd reccomend the Fleshlight Shower Mount, which has a suction cup that can be attached to any shiny surface, allowing you to thrust into it while it's held in place.
There's nothing wrong with Fleshlights but I agree that the cleaning afterwards takes a bit of time. You must make sure it is totally dry and then use cornstarch (cornflour) or rejuvenating powder on the inner sleeve before packing it away. The advantage of Fleshlights is that there are many different inner sleeve types but it could take a while to find the one that is just right for you and it's not as though they are inexpensive so it is not very practical to find out which one suits you best simply by trial and error unless you can afford to buy several different models.
I agree with others here that the tenga fliphole is a good alternative as I use a black fliphole and that always feels good. Flipholes are generally much easier to clean than Fleshlights too.
A Fleshlight was one of the first toys I purchased years ago (was working abroad) and I also found it a lot of hassle to clean and it didn't last 6 months (and as has been said is a little akward to leave out while drying).
Later I travelled a lot and took a small, discrete sleeve which Lovehoney no longer sell but could be left in the bathroom to dry without the maid raising an eyebrow.
When the Tenga flip came out I bought one and far preferred it, sensation a lot better (for me), easy to achieve multiple orgasms without leaving and very easy to clean and dry afterwards and discrete to leave by the bed when not in use.
Some years ago there were multiple treads on which was best but I don't think you can beat the Flip for ease of cleaning, drying and not looking like an obvious sex toy when you have visitors.
As others have said, the tenga flip hole is far easier. And personally, i much prefer it! Ot has better sensations, and the option to grip in different places makes it much more versatile.
