FSOG

I remember mums at a toddler group I went to talking about it and saying "I don't want my husband to see me reading it though incase he gets ideas!" So I said "I want my husband to read it and get ideas!!" They didn't really speak to me after that... Anyhow. Yeah not well written. But very easy reading. Although because it was so 'mainstream' it was helpful with getting my husband to try some naughtier toys and light bondage etc. but nowadays that book is nowhere near as naughty as us!!!

Going by what your all saying I think ill gunna get bored ... think ill leave fsog to it ;)

Not my sort of thing at all. I love me some BDSM, but what was in the book was more like abuse legitimised through a veneer of BDSM. Mainly though, the sex scenes just did nothing for me (I can get down with some dubcon, but it has to be good dubcon, you know?).

Personally I really like the ongoing Pervocracy chapter-by--chapter review of it. The reviews start of almost completely snarky and humorous and fun, but once the abusive stuff starts happening they become a really thorough breakdown of the issues.

First chapter review here: http://pervocracy.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/lets-read-fifty-shades-of-grey-chapter-1.html

Being a guy, I know I'm not the target audience for FSoG - or any other erotic fiction (is there any erotica aimed at guys, BTW? *shrugs*) - but I did read the first few chapters of FSoG, as my gf loves the novels and frankly, I found it more annoying and dull than anything.

For starters, who edited this book, a bunch of dyslexic pre-schoolers?! The spelling, grammar and sentence structure is abysmal, almost rendering it unreadable from the get-go! Ana is infuriating (I know many have referenced the 'inner goddess' hilarity, but her penchant for gasping 'Holy cow' at every damn thing makes me wanna tear my hair out!) That, and Mr.Grey just strikes me as any typical elitist; basically a spoilt child with a s***load of cash.

That said, it came (if you'll pardon the pun) at exactly the right time and unquestionably changed the sex-lives of women - and possibly a number of men, as a result, to be fair - the world over, so in that, it can't be an entirely bad thing, despite its many flaws.

I'm just hoping my gf doesn't want to drag me to see the movie.....😒

I love to read in general, but have to admit I dodn't get more than a quater of the way through the first one, that was a year ago after a friend raved on about it. Didn't interest me, over commercialised in my opinion.

But then I am more of a do'er

I've had these 3 books on my kindle now for about 10 months and my partner keeps asking if at any point I'm actually going to read them. I've read other erotic books but these just seem to keep being ignored by me for some reason.

Might just start the first book but I bet i find something better to do. ![](upload://rA41UoqYzU9yrgGiJUyzuRc98GV.gif)

Tbh going by what your all saying if its slighty abusive bdsm then I wont like it, n if his a spoilt brat 2 even worst lol... her ill have a feeling ill want to punch her cant stand the term inner goddess

Think after this i'm going to give it a miss too, i'd just get angry at what is basically a depiction of an abusive relationship being given worldwide publication like it's aceptable

Same virginangel... I cant stand it... theres a difference between bdsm play n abuse x

Very true and well put.

Like most I really struggled with FSoG, the writing is appalling, it portrays BDSM in a terrible way. BDSM not the same as an abusive relationship.

Some books I woud recommend are;

Unbreakable trilogy by Primula Bond (not on sale here but easily found on Amazon)

Sylvia Day's books

Alison Tyler's books

Kristina Wright's books

Google FSOG The Best Bits,i did!

I've just done that and it what a reminder of just how bad this book is ! I thought it pretty repetitive and boring when I read it but seeing these excerpts just brought it all back, it's worse second time round .
If anyone wants to read good erotic fiction try anything by Portia da Costa.

I normally resist the lure and hype of over pushed books, eventually I broke down and read 'The Da Vinci Code' and afterwards thought well thats' x' hours of my life I ain't going to get back. When I stated that I found that book to be poor and the plot line although starting well fell apart etc etc, it was amazing how many people agreed with me.

Why is the above relevant, I read a lot due to large amount of (air) travel in my job and I read anything,b ut will never read this, not due to the story line or topic but due to the little I have read of it, in bookshops in Airports, i wouldn't waste my money or time on it, another over hyped, media marketted success story, just like the above, I agree it is just poorly written something I detest.

Just my opinion.

I still find myself wondering if there's any erotica for guys to enjoy, or is there no market for it?

I'm sure us guys would like a sexy read too, once in a while...

...or do we just get stuck with hentai, about 95% of which I find gross and disturbing, tbh!

I love the FSOG trilogy! Have read all the books and thinking of re-reading them again.

I wondered if any men read this kinda stuff too, maybe start a tread on it magicnumber69??? X

I loved them... Only problem is I can't read since.. Tried Sylvia Day but they bored me!! I want a book from Christian's point of view.

Any one have same issue find a decent read please share :)

Thought id share this with you

FIFTY SHADES OF GREY - (a husband's point of view)

The missus bought a Paperback,
down Shepton Mallet way,
I had a look inside her bag;
T'was "Fifty Shades of Grey.

Well I just left her to it,
And at ten I went to bed.
An hour later she appeared;
The sight filled me with dread...

In her left she held a rope;
And in her right a whip!
She threw them down upon the floor,
And then began to strip.

Well fifty years or so ago;
I might have had a peek;
But Mabel hasn't weathered well;
She's eighty four next week!!

Watching Mabel bump and grind;
Could not have been much grimmer.
And things then went from bad to worse;
She toppled off her Zimmer!

She struggled back upon her feet;
A couple minutes later;
She put her teeth back in and said
I am a dominater !!

Now if you knew our Mabel,
You'd see just why I spluttered,
I'd spent two months in traction
For the last complaint I'd uttered.

She stood there nude and naked
Bent forward just a bit
I went to hold her, sensual like
and stood on her left tit!

Mabel screamed, her teeth shot out;
My God what had I done!?
She moaned and groaned then shouted out:
"Step on the other one!!

Well readers, I can tell no more;
Of what occurred that day.
Suffice to say my jet black hair,
Turned fifty shades of grey.
