My cousin gave me a older dresser about 3 years ago or more and the dresser has a older looking double door in the middle that opens as 1 door. And when you open it there are 3 drawers inside that don’t have tracks to slide in and out on. so I was thinking about making a few modifications to the drawers in the middle.
I have been thinking about fixing the drawers sliders and then in the very bottom drawer place a plastic shallow drawer organizer to hold my toys while charging and place a smaller multi-USB charger inside the drawer. And then once the toys are charged place them in the other to drawers.
So basically I will turn the 3 drawers behind the door into a place to store and charge the toys. 1 drawer for the charging area and 1 drawer for the toy storage and 1 drawer for the cleaners and stuff. I figure if I use the dresser I already have I can use things like cheap pencil cases to store the toys of the smaller size and then the larger ones can be stored in some of those cloth bags that toys normally come with.
Has anyone else ever used a dresser or changing table with drawers or something to use for toy storage and charging? I personally think this might be a simple job since all I need are a few simple drawer runners to keep the drawers from falling out every time I open the drawers behind this door. And a simple cheap Multi-USB charging station is around $10.00 or so.
I’m always worried about my toys being seen while charging and this should help fix that issue. Plus it will keep this stuff hidden when not in use.
I know some people just stick the stuff in a drawer or a box and stick it in the closet. But I think this would work out well and was just wondering if anyone else has tried to do something similar for storage and charging in one. I hope this makes sense.
Altering a foot stool sounds like a fun project. Since these are something that look the same way since the straps are hidden you don’t really need to hide the stuff. Which makes getting it out to use much simpler.
I haven’t got a charging drawer (damnit, that’s genius, why didn’t I think of that?! ) but I have got a tallboy converted into toy storage, so basically the top two drawers are lined with crushed burgundy velvet cushions and hold things like cuffs, blindfold, rope, nipple clamps. Next two drawers are lined with rubber matting and contain intertables or things that need to be kept cleaner - vibrators, dildos and buttplugs. Bottom drawer is clean-up - wipes, sex toy cleaner and I think spare tea lights and candles for wax play.
I do also have adhesive hooks on the back of the wardrobe door for floggers, crop/cane etc.
I may have to shuffle some things around. I’m pinching this charging drawer idea
We have a draw divan bed, 4 large draws, all with hidden magnetic locks on and all full of toys, bdsm gear, lingerie and sexy outfits, 95% all her stuff she’s accumulated in the last few months since we got together.
Also changed both sockets next to the bed to those with additional USB outlets as everything charges by USB now. There’s always something on charge!!
Be very wary of buying “cheap” charging stations and then charging things in enclosed spaces. There’s a fire risk. Personally i wouldn’t be charging anything unless it was on view out in the open.
We definitely need to up our toy storage game… Ours are all still in a small cardboard box, hidden away in a cabinet in the bathroom. Not sexy at all!!!
I found my stand up power station thing it has outlets and I think 4 USB ports plus it is kind of round and has four sides that have ports and plug areas. I say round but the sides look shaved down for the 4 sides to have ports and then the top have ports as well. I think this will fit behind the dresser as is. But the only issue is the charging cables are to short. Unless I buy a few USB to USB extenders. I could always buy extenders and run the charging station from the top of the dress and use if for charging the phone on the dresser and then have the extenders run down the back of the dresser into the bottom drawer and since these drawers don’t fit tight the backsides of the drawers can have a little command hook and attach the cable to the drawer co the cable dose not drop down behind the drawer inside the dresser. This way I can turn off the charging station when not in use much easier. Rather then opening up the drawer each time to turn off the charging station I can just keep it on top of the dresser. I think I paid like 25 for this charging station about 2 years ago and never used it. It had so many charging ports and it would have been to clumpy on the desk. So I think it will work in the room.
