Thank you tonnes and bunches for your gracious and arse-kissing permission, I'm sure my readers will really appreciate you, as indeed do I. :)
Evening Lubyanka. Just had a look at your links. Very good indeed as ever. Nice one! I award you. . . A platter of tuna sandwiches and. . . and. . . a thick New York style cheesecake for dessert ;-) Enjoy. SG69 x

I've been reading your posts to me to kvetch, and he's really chuffed you've been kissing my arse and feeding me. :D
Mmmm, tuna sandwichesssssss.... mmmmmm.
I am a bit curious as to whether tuna sandwiches and cheesecake would go well together, I've never had them together before, can you confirm the mix-and-matchness of this?
I bet that cheesecake would taste better the next day. :)
Now all I need is a tan-lined plate to eat them off and I'm good to go. :p
Hey Masterandslave! Apologies but I've only just seen your get well soon message :-s Thankyou very much girl! I wasn't too good about 3 weeks ago but all is well now. Appreciated. ? ? Lubyanka, I would be your tan lined platter serf any day. On one condition though. . . you can only use your mouth ;-) SG69 x

That's absolutely no problem, but you've got to promise you'll refrain from any fragranced body products which might interfere with my enjoyment of your prepared and served meal. And I've got a really long pointy tongue, if you're tickly then that might make your plate duties a bit more difficult. :)
Also I'd like kvetch to be on hand to ensure I've got refills of beverages and condiments when necessary. And your partner might be useful just to make sure you're still breathing when I'm done. :p
Mmmmm, fooooooood...... serrrrviccce.... :p

Hi SG - just got that recipe for the tia maria cheesecake. The base is made from crushed ginger nuts instead of digestives. ....
sprinkle 1 tbsp gelatine onto 3 tbsp cold water and leave for 10 mins. stir 1tbsp coffee powder and 2tbsp tia maria into 1/2 pint boiling water and add the soaked gelatine and stir in til dissolved. Stir in 5 ounces soft brown sugar. put this mixture into a blender with 1lb of philadelphia cheeseand work until just smooth. leave until beginning to set then lightly whip 150ml cream and fold into mixture. Turn mixture ontop of bicsuit base and leave in fridge for 2-3 hours. Remove from tin and decorate with whipped cream andcoffee beans/walnuts/choccy buttons - the choice is yours!
Hope you enjoy - and make sure you leave some for me!!

Hiya Emmi! Thankyou so very much for this girl. I will try it out at the weekend for sure. Must be nice cos it's calorie ladenExternal Media LOL SG69 x
Hello again Emmilou! and anyone else who likes cheesecake! Diamonds and Sweetlove this is for you too girls, it's dead easy but quite big using these measurements so you could actually get four cheesecakes from this!
SEXYGETS CHEESECAKE!
Makes a large cheesecake for about 16 people or one Sexyget! Of course you can half everything to make a smaller one (coward!)
Ingredients
1 pint double cream
600g cream cheese such as Philadelphia (I use Iceland’s)
2 packets orange jelly
2 tins fruit in own juice (strawberry, pineapple, raspberry, mandarin etc…)
15 digestive biscuits
125g butter
100g sugar (or less if you haven’t got a sweet tooth!)
Method
For base, crush biscuits in blender and put into a bowl with sugar. Melt butter and mix all together. Press the mix into a cake tin and leave to set.
For topping, Make the jelly to one pint using juice from tins of fruit and water. Put this in fridge and take out to use when at point of setting (but not fully set).
Whisk the cream until it starts to thicken. In a large separate bowl mix the cream cheese until soft and add the fruit to this. Then pour in the jelly and whisk all this together thoroughly. Add the cream to this and whisk thoroughly again then pour onto the base and put into the fridge to set.
This is the basic cheesecake and you can add strawberries etc if you wish.
I have worked out the fat, carbohydrate content, calories etc if you really want to know. . . but you really don’t want to. . .trust me!!

That looks amazing! I may have a cheesecakemakingfest as I have a party to go to and one of these would be great to bring, and then I can also get a cheesecakemakingfest blog post out of it. :)
Some questions:
Have you ever used powdered gelatine, and if so, how much?
Can you approximate the times you leave the base and the topping to set before proceeding with the recipe?
Can I make the cake and leave it in the fridge overnight before using?
What condition do you think it will be in if I do that and then travel with it for 6 hours? (It'll go back in the fridge for a few hours before being eaten)
emmilou and SEXYGET 69, would you mind if I published a blog post with your recipes after I test them? I'll credit you of course and link to your profiles here if you like.
Glad you like the look of it. I can *guarantee* this will be the best yummiest scrummiest cheesecake you have ever eaten. . . .possibly!
I worked this recipie out so you *don't*have to use powdered gelatine as a lot of people have problems using powdered gelatine so no I've never used it for as long as I can remember!
The base will be set in about 20 to 30 mins.
The topping is the final stage of the recipie, so when you pour this onto the biscuit base you will then level it out with the base of a spoon making sure it's all compacted down and up against the sides of the tin or whatever container you may use then put the whole finished nomfest into your fridge to set overnight!
If you store this cheesecake in your fridge overnight then place it inside a suitable box (which you could easily make from cardboard or you could *bum* one from your local friendly cakeshop owner and that doesn't mean pounding them with your strapon Lubyanka till they give up said box!) it will be spot on after several hours of travelling then put back into a fridge, for sure. I've made loads of these for friends and family to be taken to parties and they have travelled excellently!
I will get back to you with the terrifying calorie, carbs, fat and non fibre content as I do have it written down somewhere and will dig it out for you.
No probs with regards to publishing the recipie but I would like to disclaim in the event of any cheesecake fest prostrate milking induced deaths On that note I'm liking the sound of that to be honest!
Can I just say that Emmilou's sounds gorgeous and I can't wait to give it a go!
One more question, can you estimate approximately how long the topping should set before pouring it into the base?
I agree, emmilou's sounds so amazing, I think I am going to try to combine your two recipes so I have your decadent nutrient-free-packed essentials, minus the fruit and juice, and make up the jelly with fresh coffee and Tia Maria flavouring from emmilou's recipe. I may also use my vanilla sugar instead of plain or brown, I'll see, I just can't resist playing with recipes. Give me a recipe and for some reason I just have to tweak it as I go along. :)
But I definitely have to test it out before the party because our hostess is a truly exceptional chef, and anything I bring really must be of a very high standard in order to keep up with her efforts. :)
Hello Lubyanka! The topping does not set on it.s own at all! You need to pour the topping straight onto the pre-set base as soon as it has been mixed. Then the whole completed cheesecake is placed into the fridge where it will set overnight. SG69 x

Oh, I misunderstood this:
"For topping, Make the jelly to one pint using juice from tins of fruit and water. Put this in fridge and take out to use when at point of setting (but not fully set)."
So I suppose I'm asking approximately how long you expect it to take for the jelly to reach the "not fully set" point? (I don't use jelly hardly ever)
Thank you, I really appreciate your availability as Cheesecake Consultant. :)
I find the time for *not quite set jelly attainment* to be different every time! So it's a case of keeping your eye on it and giving it a coat of looking at now and again. It doesn't take that long but there is a fine line between not quite set and the set point! Hmmmm. . . SG69 x
Thank you, that is tremendously helpful! A test run should clear a lot of this up so I can be surer about it the second time. I'll make the half recipe for the test run, after I get kvetch to do a shopping expedition for the ingredients. :)
My pleasure D :-) Yep, I'll dig me choccy one out and put it here for ya! I like the sound of Emmilou's one! Now all we need is Sweetlove's Toblerone cheesecake recipie :-) SG69 x
