Help with sizing

Hey guys, I need your help with sizing! I just discovered that the free return policy does not apply to my country, but I still want to take advantage of the special offers on lingerie going on right now.

I don't know my size, even the US one. I wear a 4 in US h&m size but i've been told these are made small. I never bought lingerie from Lovehoney except for two suspender belts that are arriving in two days. I can't wait till then to make my order because the up to 50% on toys and lingerie ends tonight.

So i'm interested in these peices of lingerie:

http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=32063

http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=32352

My bust and chest measure 33" and 29", I wear a 32C. My hips are 34"-35" but I have a big butt for my body.

Do you think those item would fit my all in the smaller sizes? I'm worried about the S/M size on the knickers as they might be too big and fall off in my pants in everyday wear

Thank you!!

Oh and there is those: http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=34065 (they are not in promotion).

People in the reviews say that they are brought down by the stockings, so I really wouldn't want them to be too big

I think you'd be fine with the Flirty thong in the size S/M as your hip measurements are within the size range. Being a US size 4 would make you a UK size 8, so you're within the reccomended size range for the S/M too (8-10).

The G-string is super elasticated so I doubt that would fall down. I don't think either of them would be too big tbh, I have to go up a size in the thongs to avoid them digging in (don't wear g-strings though as they're always too small).

The bra should fit you in the size small too as again, both your bust and clothing size are within the range. Plus being a halterneck means it's pretty adjustable.

Sorry I can't be of more use to you, but I'm sure you can google up size convertitors to use and then use the LH charts to decide whether they would suit you.

I don't think I would buy lingerie from Lovehoney if I couldn't return the items, because I really struggle to find the correct size (even though I'm a perfectly normal, easy to fit shape): in the flirty knickers line, the bikini shape fits absolutely perfectly in L/XL, the same size boyshort is too big (I think - I'll know for sure when I'll get the M/L). The soft Spoil Me bra in plus size is much too big, the underwire version in L is too small. LH fishnet tights in Plus are too big, the sheer tights are fine in Plus...

And with the Sweet Streak Corset Style Bustier it's Lovehoney's sizing chart that's way off - I'm a a 16 and ordered the 2X as per the size guide on top of the page, but it was so much too big that I then changed it for an L as per the Sweet Streak Lingerie guide at the bottom of the page.

Actually, I'm beginning to wonder whether I shouldn't simply order unknown items in a variety of sizes and then return the ones that don't fit...

Actually I can return it but not for free. I would ship it to the states and lingerie is not something that is heavy so I don't think it would be a probleme I just don't want to bother with returning and find all I have to do + paying for shipping on return

Hi there,

Carly from Lovehoney AU here!

Just wondering if you're from the US mamz?

We do offer free returns from anywhere in the US.

You can see more information about this here:

Hope this helps!

She's in Canada. :)

Yeah thanks era :)

I could manage to have it shipped from the states but i've been told on livechat that I can't do that :P So I took the risk anyway because I really wanted to buy those pieces of lingerie. My parcel should arrive today so i'm looking forward to trying them and see how they fit!

mamz, I really have no clue on what and how postal services work in Canada so my strategy might or might not work for you. But: Lovehoney did not used to offer free returns for me either. They only introduced free EU return labels last year, and I have been shopping a lot before then too. So what I did (and actually still do now) is that I just go ahead shopping for a while and if an item doesn't suit me for whatever reason, I collect them in one of their bigger sized boxes. And then from time to time I send back all the items from different orders all together, with a precise list to help them sort everything out. This way I take advantage of the max size/weight for the price of international shipping.

Also, you might want to consider using PayPal to pay for your LH orders. PayPal has a free of charge service that they reimburse your return shipping costs (within a limit of 12 a year and around 30 bucks / single event) for purchases you made through their system. So you could still use my previous idea, sending more items back at once for having the best deal on return shipping, and then get your costs (at least partially) reimbursed by PayPal. It's easy to figure it out but if you have any questions, I'll try to explain better. :)

Era i'm not sure but I think here the bigger and heavier the box, the more it is expensive. The paypal thing though looks really interesting i'm sure gonna take a further look at how all this work!

You are saying that they only introduced the free return un the EU last year, well I've spoken with someone on livechat who told me that they are working on offering it worldwide! Maybe i'll be part of the lucky countries soon too! I really thin they should include canada in the US and offer those things to north america but there is probably not enough people shopping from there.

Also, great news: I finally recieved my parcel and everithing fits nicely! My OH was amazed and I was only trying everything with my panties on under it haha. That means I won't need to return any item for now

With all that i'm finally able to guess that I would be a UK size 7 if that existed (so i'll stick to 6-8)

Thanks everyone for your help!

Yes, usually postings (at least here in EU) have different prices based on a maximum size and weight levels. So the same max size up to let's say 0,5 kg has one price, up to 1 kg another and up to 2 kg another. Above 2 kg (and up until 20 or 30 kg I believe) size does not matter anymore as it becomes "package" rather than "correspondence". So what I used to do is stay in the max size & max 2 kg range, as that would minimize cost and maximise items in each return for me. And believe me, there are a lot of items to make a 2 kg package especially with lingerie! And with one year at disposal for the return, there's time to collect them from several orders and then send everything back together.

But yes, look into the PayPal thing. Keep in mind, they do only reimburse for stuff you payed for with PayPal in the first place, but all you need is one PayPal transaction code for the return, and you can still put several items in the return box as suggested above. So it's like having several LH buys sent back, but only one return so only one reimbursment request to PayPal. Given they only do 12 a year, this trick saves you more opportunities.
