Herbal Remedies That Work

Does anyone know of herbal or health shop remedies that actually work, whether related to sex or not?

Personally L-Lysine has completely stopped cold sores for my OH.

I'm taking St Johns Wort at the moment. It took 3 or 4 weeks to start working but has definitely helped me :)

I use so many herbal remedies. I use Arnica cream for bruising, I take Echinacea in the winter months to boost my immune system, if I am ever feeling a bit stressed I take tincture of passion flower. Milk Thistle works wonders if you have over indulged in alcohol by giving your liver a cleanse. There are so many more that I use occasionally.

Was there anything specific you wanted to use one for or just general use Hun? :) xxx

I don't know about herbal - but I find that drinking fresh water at least once a day is really beneficial to my overall wellbeing. It doesn't have to be bottled, just not polluted with anything else!

Just on the back of L-Lysine being so effective, I wondered what else works. There was talk of Maca increasing libido on another thread, but haven't heard it mentioned before.

Have not heard much about this one - so I have just done a quick bit of research - hopefully this link will be useful to you - it has a lot of info there. Always be careful with herbal remedies if you are taking any other meds though:

I have a protein powder that I take every day and that has L-Lysine in it - I have heard that this one is very good for you too:) xx

For boosting the immune system I prefer honey with propolis. To make a jar of it:

You need 1 jar (about 300ml will do)

100ml of 95% ethyl alcohol (it should be available in the pharmacies - at least here is)

1 piece of propolis (about the size of a bean will do).

honey

Put the propolis in the alcohol. Leave it for a couple of days until it is fully dissolved - shake it often.

When the propolis is dissolved, put 2-3 table spoons of it in the jar, fill in with honey and stir it until it is mixed together.

One tea spoon daily does the trick. The propolis solution is preserved for a really long time, however, its qualities fade with time, so it is best to be used fresh. Propolis itself can be stored in the freezer.

This sounds really good - I will definitely have to try it :) xx

My wife started taking Maca a few months ago and really noticed a difference in her increased libido but of course there can always be the placebo effect... but I don't think it could last this long.

As with most things, good diet and exercise can do it without herbal options but I'd say give it a go for a few weeks and see how it goes.

I've been suffering from low mood lately and my skin is terrible :( I've had medication in the past for low mood and bad skin and didn't like it at all so I'd love to try something herbal or natural remedies.

I can't take st Johns wort because I'm on the pill. Is there anything you guys would recommend? xx

Ppd evening primrose oil is great for skin and can help with mood and pmt. it helps me

Peppermint oil capsules and/or peppermint tea for digestive problems

Peppermint tea is really good for nausea

Peppermint tea is also Great if you are prone to bloating. I recommended it to a friend 6 months ago and she has never touched normal tea again. She says she feels less bloated and so much more comfortable in her clothes etc

Has anyone tried horny goat weed? Sounds good, but it's very expensive. If you can take a tablet and get a mild viagra effect, then great, but if it's two a day, every day, then it's £25 a month.
