Hi from the D

Sorry. I meant the husband that suspects you have ADHD.

It’s also a nature thing not a nurture thing so tell your Mum not to worry. It’s nothing she did. :slightly_smiling_face:

Got you

Oh I know that, but she thinks ADHD is a result of/label for bad parenting and good parents have well-rounded, ADHD-free kids, so she mighr be in for a surprisee.

She aaid I can’t have OCD because I don’t wash my hands enough and my bedroom was always messy. Neither of those are rhe “type” of OCD I have

Don’t even get me started on this @Tenshadesandme - It boils my p*ss. I sit on the disabled seat sometimes on the bus with my son and get mucky looks and horrible remarks from the elderly. I often feel like I should tattoo his NHS diagnosis form to my head :joy:

It’s the same if we go shopping and people stop and stare at him, because he’s making a constant noise and flapping his hands.

You can’t even mention that word anymore because you are instantly judged, called a bad parent or told its your own fault.

My Mum has been more empathetic lately with her surgery coming up, being in pain has mads her realise how much other people suffer - sad how that works but it does.

None of your son’s disabilities is your fault @Stacy2 . I’m sure he brings pletnty of gifts to the world in his own ways

Hi @ADHDandD :waving_hand:
Welcome to the forum!

I love his cheeky ways, his personality is fantastic and so funny. He’s got better over the years - I’m just happy he can speak now, because he was non verbal for the first 7 years.

An older gentleman asked us to move, I didn’t get the chance to say anything back as B (son) said to the man, “sorry but I’m allowed to sit here, my bus pass says so”. How I didn’t laugh out loud I’ll never know :joy:

He’s too polite, that’s his problem. I was nice too, once :joy:

Hi and welcome to the forum

Did I see a topic on the forum of boiling your own piss or something? :slightly_smiling_face::wink:

Disabilities that aren’t obvious to others are hard sometimes for sure. People can be idiots.
