My partner has ADHD and I’m a Dave (and have a dick) so that’s behind the user name.
I’ve really enjoyed reading the forum since I joined. I’ve found it refreshing and interesting and a bit titillating quite often to behonest. Big-up the members.
I look forward to posting more and learning more from you all.
I’m neurospicy too, my husband widely suspects i have ADHD as well but I’m resisting a formal diagnosis as I don’t need/want yet another label to add to my collection
Yep. I hear ya. It’s a little weird having it in our user name but it’s all around anyway for sure. It can just be helpful to know why it is we do some of the things we do is all. For the partners as well of course.
Absolutely I agree. I recently discovered I have a sensory processing difficulty around motion so that’s been helpful to be able to.say “I’m not weird, I have a hidden disability”. It’s’s more frustrating when I chop between tasks, complete none of them and then I kick myself. I know why, probably, I just don’t want to admit it
Hyperfocus is a real problem for me too, to the point I forget to eat and drink without prompting.
Exactly. It kinda makes it better to know (through self diagnosis as much as through a doctor) but it also doesn’t really change all that much. Does take the edge off a bit though definitely.
It was when I said to my lady that I think you have ADHD that the penny dropped for her. And it’s helped us both for sure to look into it more.
The really funny thing for me is that my Mum always said ADHD is a sign of bad parenting and refused to hear otherwise, so if it turns out I do have ADHD, she’ll either be forced to admit she’s a bad parent (highly unlikely) or she’ll be forced to eat her words
