Too many hobbies, Not enough time. Medieval re-enactment is the big one. If you are at an event in the Midlands, look for the fences and I’m the pewter caster. Woodworking in the off season and busy working full time. And of course, sex with my fantastic partner.
Aww what, no live fire? ![]()
Fine, but can I at least have fire bows? You know, skills like ![]()
I am wondering though, actually and seriously, if you could get around the whole pistols issue with airsoft? Particularly biodegradable pellets with spring-loaded pistols. No harm to anyone, or the planet ![]()
As far as I’m aware you can’t have a airsoft gun at a medieval fantasy LARP event, whilst there is fighting it’s normally said to be contact but not full on as if you’re trying to actually hurt someone hence why the weapons are only allowed to be foam or a similar soft material so you’d probably have to either pick a melee weapon or use a bow that shoots a foam tipped arrow or something.
I’m sure if you found a UK Larping forum they’d be able to advise you, I wish I could help further but I don’t know too much else about it all yet ![]()
Ahh yes this is true, I was thinking of the environmental impact of pellets but I’m not sure how much biodegradables hurt.
Melee with a foam weapon sounds good, right up until I think of some of the melee attacks in the later games. The “death from above” attack in Rise Of The Tomb Raider (I think it was) made me wonder if I even wanted to play the games anymore ![]()
I’m Bristol-based but I’ve seen a few LARPing events in the woods and they always seem pretty cool. I wish I knew where to get in touch to find out more about them, though a lot of them seem half my age.
Age doesn’t enter into it. Try Facebook there is contact information
on there, Good luck
I shall do. Thank you for your help.
I’m very crafty so love anything to do with making things and little projects
My hobby is bullwhipping. Absolutely love it!
Anything thay involves me being outside especially playing or watching rugby. If I want to really relax a nice long walk with my dog and the family
I used to go to a bullwhipping event on the downs here in Bristol. Nothing untowards unless you knew where else we all caught up ![]()
@poley
Which NRL team do you follow?
Current favourite player?
Me? I am a die hard Broncos fan.
I like gardening, but more into hanging baskets and containers and growing things from seeds in my greenhouse. I have a mulberry bush but rarely get chance to have any as there is a blackbird that has a liking for them.
I also feed wildlife in my garden, hedgehogs, birds of every description from sparrows to pheasants, foxes and badgers in the field at the back of us.
I like going walkies as well exploring the local woods, I wouldn’t call it a hobby though, it’s very relaxing.
Then of course I like helping people with their digital devices/problems, I get great satisfaction helping the elderly.
Yeah love walking my dog around the local nature reserve or the canal towpath or even just the local streets i grew up on, you notice so much more than when in the car.
Hiking, Arft House Movie marathons, still find time for getting out for some pick-up basketball games. Just no dunking anymore.
Music, I love to sing. I’m also finally building up the record collection again, and bit by bit getting a vintage hi-fi set up together. Photography and yoga, though both have been on the back burner for a bit. Cooking. And being out in nature, which I definitely need to do much more of.
I’ve spent today planning my garden too. I’m adding ferns to the pond edge for more shade and.i’ve ordered a couple of carex to add some texture to a couple of large barrel planters to take up some space in them. We get a lot of wildlife around here too, including deer and a fox who likes to sleep on my shed.
Orgasms count as a hobby right? ![]()
Melbourne storm fan mate, so let’s not bring up last year or our current form haha
