How did discovering Clitoral Suction Toys impact you/your partner?

Hey All!

We’re collecting real experiences around clitoral suction toys. The good, the “wait, what?”, the unexpectedly great, and the not-for-me. The goal is to keep pleasure conversations open and stigma-free, and to centre what actually works for people.

If you’ve tried suction toys (solo or with a partner), we’d love to hear how it went. And if you’re a partner of someone who uses them, you’re very welcome to share what you noticed too. What changed (if anything), what helped, and what you learned along the way.

A few prompts if helpful:

  • What made you curious (or unsure) about trying one?
  • How was the first experience, and did it change over time?
  • Any big differences versus other kinds of stimulation?
  • If you used it as a couple, did it shift anything like communication, confidence, routine, or dynamic?
  • Would you recommend one to someone else? Why or why not?

Tips, honest takes, and practical advice for anyone thinking of trying one are very welcome.

A clit sucker is one of the first toys I used with my partner, I had other toys but never used them with him. I brought a sucker after reading all the reviews and I haven’t looked back since. My first time using it I thought it would be fun to use in the shower on my own to see what it was like. As it was my first time I wasn’t sure what to expect and OMG it was freaking amazing. I’m not gonna lie I probably looked like Bambi on ice, my legs were shaking so much I had to sit down to finish. :see_no_evil_monkey::rofl: But it was amazing. I use it so all the time now, on my own and with my partner. I favourite position at the moment is doggy so I can hold my sucker in place..it takes me right to that happy place and beyond.

Our first suction toy was the Womanizer that came with the Lovehoney calendar maybe 5 years or so ago.

My wife wasn’t initially keen on getting one as she has a very sensitive clitoris and was worried that it would be overwhelming, however on using it we found that it gave a very different experience to a traditional bullet vibrator. She said it’s hard to describe, but it’s less of a pointed and intense vibration and more of a sensation that’s covers her entire clit without pressing uncomfortably against it. It’s definitely introduced a toy for a quicky for us. It’s something we can use for a really quick bit of couples play or solo for just her.

When she first used it too I definitely remember her recommending it to a lot of our friends, something she’d never really done with any sex toy before. From her perspective, it wasn’t in any way phallic and was entirely designed for the sole purpose of pleasure for a woman, rather than emulating a penis, which made it feel a little less taboo or crass as a conversation subject.

I think because you’re talking about something more discreet than a realistic dildo, but more elegant and aesthetically pleasing than many vibrators it’s something that we could have a natter about over dinner or a drink, whereas there are a few of our toys that we definitely wouldn’t have the confidence to be quite so open about.

I was dubious about “air pulse” vibrators but when I finally did try one I got a rose. I was blown away by how different it was to a normal vibrator. I then got one of the womanizer style ones and it was even better! They don’t cause the sensitivity I get from a normal vibrating bullet etc, you can just keep on going and going, I have reached levels of enjoyment I didn’t know were possible. I love the womanizer style because the slim design lets you hold it in place in a lot of positions without it being uncomfortable. The one I have lets you remove the suction head to clean or replace it if it gets worn out which is a great idea. I haven’t brought one out during sexy time with hubby yet because the opportunity hasn’t come up but I can’t wait to try it. They have changed the way I see sex toys. Absolutely love them. I have recommended them to all of my female friends!

They are seriously my FAV!!! My go to with or without him in the bedroom! I tried one based on some insane and kinda hilarious reviews years ago and I can’t get enough!! Honestly great solo, great with a partner using it on you or having it suck on your clit while being penetrated. In either way. Calms nerves if he’s knocking on the back door and makes that FAR MORE PLEASURABLE!!! :exploding_head::biting_lip: TRY IT, you’ll thank me!!! Lay flat on your stomach, tell him to allow you to find that spot before he enters and you’ll never want it without that sucker again!

After always using a vibrator or wand[1]. I saw an Instagram post about the Womanizer X Lovehoney Pro40. The part which got my attention was: “Gentle air vibrations, sucking and massage for thrilling sensations”. Them words were enough for me to purchase and try my first suction toy. As always with new technology and toys I was very skeptical - I’ve had a few toys that weren’t compatible with me so I was hopeful with the Pro40.

As soon as a toy arrives, I know I’m trying it straight away. It did take a few tries to learn and understand the toy.

My First top tip is to add a little bit of water based lube around the head. I found that can really help and allows for easier positioning.

My Second top tip is if you can buy replacement heads, do it. They often sell out or become discontinued. Natural wear and tear does happen.

After 3 years with Pro40 and using it hundreds of times, I decided to try the Womanizer Next. I was unsure if the extra money and features could really make a difference [2].

The suction of the Next, is for me completely different and much stronger - not just that, the Deeper vibrations, are also amazing. I love the Afterglow feature.

I love using suction toys solo, but they are also great together and with a partner.

My Third top tip is try using one while having PIV[3]- It’s game changing. I highly recommend it.

I’ve mentioned it before on here, but I did recommend them to my girly friends a while ago. I’m really interested to see how suction toys evolve. I will never go without them.

Sorry for waffling on Brenna

TL;DR - its been AMAZING!

The Love Honey Rose was our first suction toy. Im am the toy purchaser in our house and whether its real or not, Ms. Kat sometimes has a skeptical attitude about the steady stream of devices I want to use on her. My skepticism of her sincerity is based on her almost never complaining after the fact

The first time using the Rose I happened to be recording so I have documentation! From “first touch” to “Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god” was 3 minutes ad 22 seconds. She literally pushed me away because as she said “its too much!” The Rose has been our most used toy ever since.

But we didnt stop there. We have added the Lovehoney Clitoral Suction Stimulator and the Womanizer X Lovehoney Starlet Rechargeable Clitoral Stimulator. Both have been effective but the Rose remains the star. Oh, technically we have two because we have the Mon Ami Rose too.

  • What made me curious? I am very focused on Mrs. Kats orgasms and I read rave reviews about suction devices. She has always been a fan of that kind of stimulation from me and the idea that I could giver her that while alos being able to see her drove my purchase. I absolutely LOVE too see her orgasm so anything that lets me watch is going to get tried.
  • First experience was mind blowing and very fast. Since then the speed has drifted as she has adjusted to what the suction feels like. Its never been as fast as the first time. Thats not a bad thing at all.
  • Any big differences? It has become her favorite toy for alone time. Previously she preferred fingers or a bullet vibe with occasional wand use.
  • We do use it as a couple. Its one of the few toys she has used on her self with me. Thats not an embarrassment thing, its a “I like when you do it” thing so its a big deal to me that she will take over at times. Its also become our “designated hitter” when other methods are not working. The Rose always delivers!
  • I would ABSOLUTELY recommend one to anyone!

Tips and tricks:

  • Lube is essential to getting a good seal.
  • The thinner ones are better for getting the exact spot while the rose adds vibrations over a larger area.
  • They can be used for nipple play also.
  • The thinner ones work well with partner penetration at the same time. The Rose is just enough bigger to get int he way for us trying to do penetration too.

What made you curious (or unsure) about trying one? I was looking for something as a treat for me but also my wife. Seeing something new I figured it was worth a go.

How was the first experience, and did it change over time? First experience with something cheap didn’t really do the job. We use toys during sex and on that occasion swapped the suction toy for a standard vibrator instead. Then ended up with another suction toy as part of a set so the wife said she’d be open to trying it again and found it to be a lot more effective. Now our womanizer next is a go to for nearly every time.

Any big differences versus other kinds of stimulation? It’s definitely different, my wife has described it as less blunt force than a vibrator which means she can enjoy it for longer before it just ends up making it felt a bit sore.

If you used it as a couple, did it shift anything like communication, confidence, routine, or dynamic? Not majorly, we are familiar with using wands or vibrators anyway so this has just replaced those to a certain extent. We are definitely a little more adventurous now than we were a few years ago though. I feel like the openness to try a suction toy was a result of that but could also have been a bit of an influencer.

Would you recommend one to someone else? Why or why not? Yes certainly. My wife doesn’t finish with solely PIV and always wants something for clitoral stimulation and this gives you some variety rather than always the same classic wand. The difference in type and spread of pressure also might do things for you that you didn’t know you’d enjoy.

My first suction toy was from FSOG & it was free with something else. I didn’t like the suction toy, it did nothing for me. My preference at that time was power and this wasn’t giving that. For some reason I didn’t throw it out, it just lived in my bedside drawer.

I had a 2yr relationship and I didn’t use toys at all, when that ended I got the toys back out. The wand that I used to love bc it was as powerful as a jackhammer, was way too powerful and it felt like it was trying to buzz away my clit! During a rummage I came across the suction toy and decided to try it. Couldn’t find the power cable but miraculously, there was still some juice in it. You know that image of a body being lifted and their soul being dragged out…thats how it felt, I used that toy until it died. I then bought a wee cheap one from a large online store & then another bc I was afraid it would die & I’d be without it.

The first one I bought from LH was the Starlet 2. Loved it. I also tried using the wand again and really didn’t like it. Thats when I realised the difference between buzz and rumbly vibes and that I really loved the rumbles and did not like the buzz. I don’t know that I ever loved the buzz, but it got me to orgasm in less than 30 secs and I think thats what I expected from masturbating. I had never considered that a slower buildup would give me so much more pleasure.

I’ve had various clitoral suction toys since then and each one was my fav until I got the next. But, my 2 standouts that haven’t been beaten are the Womanizer Next and the We-Vibe Melt, I think its the Melt 2 that I have. The Next is such a treat for when I want to take my time, and the Melt is great for using with a partner during PIV if I want a bit more power than fingers. Its also great if I want an orgasm right now, with urgency.

I prefer to use a suction toy solo, but will add the Melt every so often bc its slim so fits easily between us and its also easy for him to use on me. We’ve used it on his frenulum as well and he enjoys the pucker, combined with a bit of tongue. If I’m sending him a video treat, I won’t generally use the suction toy, bc theres not really much action to see, but he loves knowing that I’ve used it & i’ll tell him about it so that he is involved.

I would absolutely recommend a clitoral suction toy and a good starter one would be the Mon Ami Pleasure Air toy I love the rumbles on this, its low power and the price is good. The rose is very popular, but due to the width, and the flat top, I find it harder to get positioned. I have one and once in the right place, its great. But theres less faff (for me) with other toys.

Try one!

My wife seems to be one of those rare people for whom clitoral suction toys just don’t do the job.

We have tried quite a few well known models, through purchases and through the generosity of the LH tester program, and she just cannot get them to work for her.

She finds them irritating rather than pleasurable.

We were shopping on LH for a vibrating dildo and she thought it might be good to try a clitoral suction toy as well. The dildo was a hit from the start. The womaniser starlet took a bit of getting used too with placement, lube and head size but once we got it right omg ! 30 second orgasms, multiple orgasms which we never achieved with piv or manual stimulation of her clit. She just holds it there and keeps coming in a rolling orgasm which is so erotic it’s all I can do not to cum while I stroke myself watching and touching her breasts. Best purchase we’ve made and would highly recommend one to everyone !!

I’d been finding it more and more difficult reaching climax with wand and bullet vibrators. They just ended up giving me pins and needles in my hand, and nothing more than a pleasurable throb in my bits.

When I realised I was heading into the dreaded menopause, and I had clitoral atrophy it made sense the vibrating movement of a, well vibrator  wouldn’t work.

When I saw the Womanizer Golden Moments set in the sale I decided to give it a try. It promised the air tech would offer a different feeling, and it delivered.

I haven’t used a bullet or wand since, and have bought a couple of cheap copies of the Womanizer. It is in truth the best in both feeling and battery life. Plus, the back and gold design is very stylish.

My only bug bear is the removable heads seem to disappear off to wherever the odd socks go, and I’m loathe to pay what seems an excessive postage cost for such a small, light item. So will wait until I am buying something else from Love Honey, for free delivery….

We love clit suction toys. The first one we tried was the travel Womanizer from a LH advent calender.

Since then we’ve tried several different models and really, really love them.

We have found as the tech as improved and been used more widely, results have been a bit mixed. The Womanizer OG, with suction stimulation for the g-spot, is amazing but harder to use and get right; we can well understand that it doesn’t work for everyone.

The Arcwave Ion, with suction tech for the penis, is a god tier toy for us :joy:

Suction combined with g-spot vibes though, found in several Womanizer and LH toys is mind meltingly incredible. They are amazing toys though combining a suction toy with any other vibrator does get close.

One of the biggest leaps for us though was when a forum user suggested using suction toys on nipples. Wow! So much fun. Since then we’ve used them pretty much everywhere. Having a dedicated suction toy for your bum is just brilliantly naughty :joy:

We decided to give The Rose a try, partly on the back of the hype, partly because we had never tried this type of toy and partly because we were buying anniversary gifts for each other and this one ‘looked the part’.

Our experience was that on first attempt it was truly amazing and delivered in a big way, in a short space of time. Subsequent attempts were more hit and miss.

My wife seems to find it difficult to find the perfect place and achieve the perfect seal, which sometimes results in frustration and giving up. It did work on a number of other occasions and again, when it did work it was very enjoyable, but the effort involved in trying to get it right has ultimately resulted in the use of it tailing off and eventually stopping altogether, mainly because she also has a wand and a rabbit, both of which get the job done much easier.

The wand is generally the ‘go to’.

Hope this helps!

I bought a rose about a month or so ago, and it was certainly a trial and error at first. The first 2 times I used it, it was uncomfortable. But I believe in trying things out several times before I make my own judgement. It was more of a user error with it being a completely different type of toy. I do have a ton of different toys, but a suction one was a new one. My third try was so much better. I found my groove with it, but it still takes some adjusting to get it on the right spot. I thoroughly still enjoy it though. I’m open to trying more like these toys in the future.

Are first suction toy was a LH rose we decided to try this after an amazing review from a friend and reading the reviews on LH.

It took a couple of goes to get into the perfect position to start with. But once we found the spot and realised the right about of lube to use. It was absolutely amazing it seemed to have my wife climaxing in minutes.

Would definitely recommend giving this type of toy a try. To see how it made my climax was absolutely amazing
