This has always baffled me too. They must have to shave/wax a few hours before filming.

I was once told use hair conditioner to shave with?
Hair conditioner's great for shaving your legs.
I've just spent 45 minutes in the bath shaving and there is still the odd hair and rough patch! I don't know how they do it
surely its a waxing thing. shave all you like, never as good. same as dying hair. never as good as when you have it professionly
Don't forget film prductions will also have specialist hair stylists etc, whose job it is to know how to get certain effects. Plus make up will often be applied to give skin a smoother appearance, just the same as on actor's faces.
And if that always fails, there's still CGI.
By all means try different things to get as smooth as you can, but seeing something, anything, in the movies and thinking it is an attainable goal isn't always realistic, for the simple reason that the the movies themselves aren't realistic.
they may dye the hair really light then shave! so its really hard to see.
