I'm looking to buy a remote controlled vibrating egg and I'm currently torn between a few choices:
Tracey Cox: http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=22202
Lovehoney: http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=15667
Adrien Lastic: http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=26480
Shots Toys: http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=26175
Some of the things that I've been considering are
1. Batteries required (the ones needing AAA or AA batteries are definitely more attractive)
2. Price (not sure if I should go with a cheaper one or a mid range one for my first egg)
3. Weight (I'd prefer a heavier one I think. I checked with LH and the Shots Toys one is by far the heaviest at slightly above 100g so I'm wondering if I could possibly double up and use it for kegel training as well.)
* For some reference, I've tried the Swoon kegel balls that are about 67g and found them too light. I tend to forget that I'm even wearing them so I'm worried that a lighter egg would be sort of ineffectual? But maybe the vibrating balls are different from the jiggle ones!
4. Range of remote (anything above 10m is fine, any further is a bonus so basically all of them fit this criteria)
I've read the reviews, but it's hard to get comparative reviews to see how the different eggs measure up to each other so I was hoping for some input from you guys! C:
I weighed my Maia Wicked with batteries in and it was 79 g on the kitchen scale, that's comparable to a fair number of kegel balls. I'm not sure if it will be heavy enough for you. It's not for me, but this one in particular has a unique shape that I find useful for active kegel work. My review is here http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=29931&reviewid=65778#customer_reviews. Some of it addresses complaints about remote eggs that were coming up in the forums a lot, like expectations that they'd have more power. I hope it's a good overview of remote eggs in general as well as that one in particular.
My impression is that they all have their drawbacks because it's asking for so much in a limited space. The egg can't be huge and it has to house the vibrator, the components to respond to the remote, and its own power supply. Rechargable eggs seem to have more power so look to those if you need a lot. Because remote eggs tend to be used over a longer period of time and will be on stand-by through-out, they do tend to go through batteries more quickly than other types of toys. So IMO you're right to look at the type of batteries used and take that into account. Remember to take the batteries out because the egg will be on stand-by even if it seems to be off.
The reviews of the Shots are better than many I've read. A forum regular is keen on the Adrian Lastic. Don't know anything about the other two. I'd go mid-range rather than cheap on this because there are so many components involved. Comparing them is befuddling so just take your best guess and go for it. If you're not happy with it, try to figure out what's lacking so you'll have more info about your needs for the next try-out. Good luck.
Thank you so much, you've been a lot of help! C: I ended up going for the LH egg initially to test the waters. If all works out well, I'll definitely be getting one of the pricier eggs. The Maia is definitely on my wishlist!
Always happy to. Have fun!

I love the look of the Hula Beads! If only they weren't quite so pricey. I really like the look of the Adrien Lastic one since I only really get off from clit stimulation. Yum!

Ooh thanks! I so want the Lelo one, but it's unfortunately out of my price range for now. :c My next big splurge has to include the boyfriend so I need to get the Tenga / Fleshlight out of the way!
I'm definitely seriously considering the Nalone one. I'm just a little puzzled about the silver vibrator on the string - does... that go in together with the balls? I do love how they're kinda like a vibrating egg and kegel exerciser in one.
Looking at getting a rechargeable egg for OH for Xmas.
As above, had been looking at the Adrien Lastic ( http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=29676 ) but am not sure the 'one size fits all' clit stimulator will work for her and would stay in place when walking around and being out for the evening. There seemed to be mixed reviews about that bit of it, for the ladies who have used it out and about, does it really stay in place and stimulate rather than slip and become uncomfortable?
There is then the Nalone Miu Miu balls ( http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=28581 ), was a little concerned that the metal charging point wouldn't feel comfortable but it doesn't seem to be mentioned in the reviews so I guess it is not an issue ... however I do wonder how the two balls compare with just a single egg.
For the ladies, two eggs vs. one, which do you prefer (as she is not going to get both for Xmas)?
Unfortunately the eggs I have are no longer on Lovehoney, though I did get them here.
Batteries - defintely go for AA or AAA as you will go through quite a few of them! Do remember though that the wireless ones have a battery in the controller which can also run down reasonably quickly, so make sure that you can get a cheap and reliable supply of them too! My favourite egg had to be abandoned as the controller was going through an odd sized battery that cost amost £5 about every second time I used it!
Price - it's a vast generalisation but I found the cheaper toys were not as powerful. That may not be the case here.
Weight - that's up to personal preference I suppose. I haven't found any single egg to feel the same as kegel balls though.
I'm only looking at rechargeable, bought a cheaper one some years ago but by the time we got to use it the batteries were dead and very expensive to replace.
With these small toys I thhink rechargeable is the only way to go.
