How to be a successful tester

Maybe get a recognisable username rather than a number? Speaking for myself i recognise and remember a lot of users with names rather than userxxxx. Those users all seem to merge into one anonymous blob.

Maybe that’s why your reviews aren’t triggering a tester item? Also get a profile pic, it doesn’t have to be of you, just something recognisable and unique to you.

Hope this helps.

Trying to get my user name changed and sent all the required info but have not heard anything from them in over a week. Emailed Brenna and she said they are very busy and to give them time. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Yeah i understand they’re busy, but i hope you can see my point. You can still be anonymous but recognisable to the forum and mods. Hopefully they’ll sort you out soon.

I definitely get confused with all these usernames looking the same.

Yes, as i scroll down the topics they all look the same, and it’s confusing as to who said what in conversations.

I hope so too. Will have to think of a profile pic.

Not sure if I’m the only one, but if I see a letter and no profile picture then I rarely look at the comments or interact. For me having a profile picture is definitely important for recognisably :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

just saw a mention of changing username.

Do the tester pickers match the forum account email to review email?

Or would you need the username on forum to match the review username?

Asking becasuse I’ve used different names (same email)

Think they match emails.

Me too. A username becomes familiar and so does a profile image. It gives the impression that you want to participate and are staying.

Me too @Stacy2 & @WillC and you get to recognise members and especially ones who are on your wavelength eh @WillC

You can also use your name and still be anonymous. How many Gareth’s do you know? Is my name even Gareth? Is it a double bluff? I could even be Stephanie.

A username is just a username, but I agree with changing it from ‘userxxx’.

Absolutely @CurvyJilly and it doesn’t matter if anyone changes their profile pic often because it’s often the username you recognise. I can still remember the names of a lot of former members who no longer visit. But as I struggle to remember my phone number I wouldn’t recognise a user/number.

But it’s always nice to see a familiar member as I scroll down the topics.

Exactly am I curvy…am I even Jilly?

Are those my legs? Only one member of the forum knows those three things about me that I know about…

Exactly and some people’s usernames aren’t even names, just a phrase.
