Hey testers of the internet, to those of you who have been fortunate enough to become a tester, how did you? What did you do? What do you have to do? Do you send videos and photos of the items in use? And what is a live review, i have read the descriptions of thr tester section and still dont know
Hey there, No photos or vidoes are required.
Live reviews are basically reviews youâve made on products you already own.
Brenna did a FAQâs which should answer any remaining questions you might have ![]()
I donât think poor Brenna would mentally be ready to see all the tester videos and pictures
speaking for myself included ![]()
I bet sheâs seen enough with just the Lingerie photos thread @r3k ![]()

Buy test review, buy test review etc then put your name forward when Brenna offers something to test. If you have helpful, honest, interesting reviews you might get lucky. Simple as that. Participating on the forum might help too. Although I must say your username comes across as a bit desperate.
Hahah i can see that, is rhere any way to change my username? I just didnt really know what to put
Yes thereâs a current topic on the forum on how to do it.
Here you go ![]()
Lots of live reviews of items you have purchased, read the FAQs. Donât use Ai ⌠itâs pretty obvious and from what Iv heard itâs become quite common recently, which is a shame as the whole point in testing is the fun and excitement of trying something new.
But basics are:
Be active on the forums
Have live reviews already
Be open and honest in your reviews and donât use Ai
Photos and videos are not needed
Lots see this forum as a quick fix to get free tester items thrown at themâŚthink they put a few comments on here and put their name forward for every single tester item. Like @WillC says your name does appears pushy and desperate and it is off puttingâŚas if you have joined the forum solely just to be given freebies.
Buy items and review them honestly so your writing style can be looked atâŚkeep doing that and put your name forward for items that you are genuinely interested in.
Read the guide to writing reviews & remember to be patientâŚthere are hundreds of people to just a few items at any one time so itâs no guarantee you will get chosen.
My advice is pretty much in line with everyone else.
Review items you already own that Lovehoney stock (doesnât matter if it was purchased elsewhere), make the reviews clear and informative.
Applying for items similar to ones you have already reviewed is probably a better option than something totally different.
There are a few topics on here if you search
with reviews so you can get a feel for some good ones ![]()
Have patience and remember that being selected to test is a privilege, not a right ![]()
You can also scan through Sex Toy Tester - Chit-Chat for tips.
I have an idea⌠introduce a button/option/tick box when you sign up to this forum asking if youâre looking to be a tester (or even if this is your main reason for joining)⌠and if they click it, boom, hereâs the guidelines and advice.
Itâll manage expectations from early on, get it out there in the open and out of the way, and also stop this question coming up once a week or so.
Iâm sure there may be a good reason something like that isnât feasible, but worth considering.
Donât tempt them to foist another floating box on us like the âaccessibilityâ one! ![]()
Maybe another box you can opt yourself into.
Consent for everyone.
It may even be an idea to simplify it and just send a message to every new signup with some onboarding info in (including a bit about the Testers programme). It should be relatively simple to do that.
I love a clever automation. Yes!
Hope youâre doing well Mr Chimp. Nice to see you around!
I canât see it working well.
mainly due to all those that will simply tick it/opt in on signup or whatever (as you would!) but the kind of âyou need to be in it to win itâ here currently works as Brenna can atleast assume those who say yes are around at the time and more likely to actively review the item
Honestly the âsecretâ is pretty simple: show youâre here for the community, not just the freebies.
If youâre active, write genuine reviews in your own voice, and only volunteer for stuff youâd actually use, youâll stand out way more than someone spamming every tester thread. Patience + authenticity goes a long way.
I reckon there must be something wrong in the way i write my reviews. Joined the forum in May, been writing reviews since February and been active on the forum just about every day. Still no luck. I for one didnt join for the freebies as i didnt know there were any at the time.
It can be the luck of the draw, Just keep on writing good reviews.
