I bought some restraints a whip and a blindfold for my wife and I. We have discussed this fantasy during sex so I know she will be keen to experiment but I am just wondering how best to start it all off? I like the element of surprise so any ideas gratefully accepted. Plus ideas on things to do when tied up...

First time round, i laid the wife on the bed and started kissing her, then asked her to close her eyes and applied the blindfold, then added the restraints etc.
I then started with a flogger, gently whipping her over. and then just carried on with various toys etc that i know she likes.

Just as Lovinthetoys said, we also laid our toys out first so she wouldn't be shocked by anything I used as she'd seen them all. We don't bother any more as she likes the surprise.
Yup, that's what my OH did.
Laid them out, kissing , touching, stroking with a feather and then some gentle flogging. Then it just progressed from there. Like BigBikeGuy said, the surprise is nice now since those early days!

yes i would say start with blindfols and massaging and a bit of sensual play then gradually bring in the floggers whips ect

Thanks for the advice - things turned out slightly differently than I planned but it was all good. During sex My wife instinctively grabs the bedframe (which is what have me the idea in the first place) and while doing that last night I asked if she loved grabbing the bed and whether she wanted me to tie her up. She was really into it and loved looking in the little purple LH bag I put the whip, restraints and blindfold I got out of the wardrobe.
She was really excited by the whip so asked me to tie one hand to the bed and leave the other one free so she could whip me, which was fine by me. We will definitely progress onto using both restraints and the blindfold after a fun, gentle introduction to the toys.
Anyway, it's my turn next!
