We're a couple pretty new to LH and noticed the 'add friends' section, of which we have now added several of you beautiful people. Who would like to see a chat function come back (we saw there had previously been one some years ago) so people could all chat together or possibly private chat? We love the forum and love talking to others about everything on these threads.

I believe and i could be wrong here, that the private chat function was removed because it is too difficult to moderate and it was being used incorrectly.
I think whilst it's a good option to have available, it can cause so many problems. My thoughts are that there could be closed threads that only the creator of the room can moderate access to other consumers and of course as administrators the LH team would have access for transparency. Again it's adding to their work load though and has the potential to be abused.
