My OH wants to use kegal balls to strengthen her pelvic floor muscles and generally feel tighter, stronger etc. However neither of us know how to really use them properly. I was looking into getting her the fifty shades of grey glass duo kegal set as she can adjust the weight. Any tips, suggestions or instructions?
This is an old post on the Lovehoney blog but the video covers the basics. I’m sure there are more up to date and in depth ones but I can’t seem to locate them at the moment.
As she is looking to strengthen her muscles, a set that allows her to increase the weights is definitely a good way to go.
To use, she should choose which balls to use and insert them into the holster. I would recommend using the holster, at least to start with rather than inserting just the balls (which she can do). Then apply a little lube to the balls and insert as far as is comfortable for her. Her muscles will then automatically grip the balls.
Edit as realised I may be thinking of the wrong set.
If it is this set and she is struggling with just one ball in the holster (and I would suggest using that to start), then she may need a lower weighted set.
If it is this set then if she is struggling with the lightest weight then she may need to do some manual training without balls first (to be honest, this is fairly unlikely unless she has a really weak pelvic floor). It might be that you can find a toy that has less than 15g in weight, in which case she can use that.
If she is finding the heaviest weights too easy (ie she can put them in and can keep them in there with zero effort), firstly I would suggest using the balls without the holster. To remove them without the holster, the easiest way is to squat down and push but she (or you) may need to insert a finger to fish them out, depending on the strength of her muscles at this point. If she can still hold them in easily (and then get them out with a finger), you/she need to look at heavier ones.
Once she has a weight that feels like a little effort to keep in, she has 2 options:
The first is to simply leave in and go about her day for as long or as short as she would like. This will train her muscles, but is a slower option but also the easiest option.
The second is to actively do kegel exercises around them. This means to squeeze the balls, hold and then release the balls. She would only need to do this for about 10 minutes every couple of days to see some benefit (and I would not recommend doing it too much more often as it can over work the muscles).
To start with, I would suggest she goes with the first option and find the right weight for her current level. It is also a lot easier to isolate the muscles with the balls inside so hopefully it will make more sense what she needs to do then.
Hi, we have a sex toy bundle that came with soime very large kegal silicone balls that my wife found it very hard and uncomfortable to insert and withdraw. We paid for the Fifty Shades of Grey silver metal heavy kegal balls which look great and in a sexy box but she didn’t like using them either so it was a bit of a waste of money for us. My wife does do quite a bit of exercise and even after having two children she’s still very tight so we don’t really need to worry about that but thought we would try after watching the Fifty Shades of Grey films!
