This is an ideal progression toy, the tip is “modest” and a nice slow taper for those starting out much better than buying many toys just a bit bigger than the last?
My soft butt plug is 14" circ. the biggest that my pelvis will allow
It is, as you say, ideal for progression but i also like to wear big plugs while I’m walking around the house and its no use for that so i also need conventional plugs too.

The largest I have used is the large classic silicone butt plug which is 7.5 inches circumference. I have worked my way up to this size over a year or so (getting through tonnes of anal lube in the process 
) and it feels amazing!
I almost feel ready to go larger but I do feel pretty nervous about doing it at the moment. I just don’t want to rush into it and do any damage.
Try the one Rockstar posted above, don’t be put off by the size you can progress at your own rate your body will tell you when to pause, and it will save you money in the long run?

@Quiet_ones_are_worse, You are correct, I have been slowly over the 2 years I have had the Intimidator getting closer to the bottom of it, when first purchased could only make it half way, now I’m a couple bumps from the bottom.
@sweetinstockings It is a nice stretching tool that’s fun to bonce on.
Taking things at your own bodies pace, keeps it enjoyable.
I remember reading somewhere that only increasing by 1/4 - 1/2 inch was the safest and cost effective way to size up.
Have you considered inflatable plugs?
Something like:
Inflatable plugs are great if you like to feel full but they don’t do a great deal in terms of stretching the actual anal sphincter muscles. Most of the expansion is internal.
i have a 16 inch dildo, not taken it all yet, using it as a training thing as its tentacle and gradually thickens
I have the smaller version of the inflatable butt plug and love it! I have found that because it is inflatable, it does contract in girth as it passes back out, unlike a more solid dildo or butt plug. What I love about it is the pleasant internal filling sensation you can get by pumping it up just enough for it not to want to come back out again, and drifting off to sleep.
I’ve currently got my eye on the Classic Extra Girthy 7 inch dildo (9.5 circumference) as a long-term project!
Largest we have is a 10” not sure of circumference but when we use it in my ass it feels amazing especially when she slides it in long and slow really feel it then.OH has told me if I want to look for a new toy for her to use on me whether it’s for her harness or just to use by hand to have a look as she does have something in mind but wants to see if we’re thinking same toy
I can only just manage this now (full insertion) but it taken a lot of practice let’s say that.

I’d say various partner’s fists for thickness. Biggest toy I’d say 14” dildo 3” diameter about 2/3rds in, but I’d like to try it all. Definitely have been training for years. I’d like to work my partner up to double fisting me, she can get one hand and four fingers already.
