It's hard to say what is 'best' as a lot is down to personal preference.
We've tried double-ended strapless strap-ons like this:

but my wife found the shorter end too large to use comfortably. They are great for intimacy though if they work for you as there are obviously no harness straps getting in the way.

Dee&Jon - men have a prostate 'round the back' and woman do not which would make quite a lot of difference. Also a lesbian couple wouldn't necessarily be intending to use it 'round the back', not being attracted to men doesn't automatically mean they don't like being penetrated vaginally.
