I’ve been a Lovehoney customer for years and have always appreciated the company’s openness and ethical values. However, I recently noticed that my latest order (within England) was shipped via Amazon. This led me to discover that Lovehoney also sells products on Amazon Marketplace, which raised some concerns for me, particularly around Amazon’s track record with worker treatment and warehouse conditions.
Another point I wanted to raise is the new Lovehoney AI chatbot. While I understand the potential for efficiency, I also worry about the environmental impact of large language models, and whether this could eventually lead to reduced roles for customer service staff; Something that could affect real people behind the scenes.
I’m still a big fan of Lovehoney and appreciate everything the brand stands for, but I also take pride in supporting companies whose values align closely with mine.
Just wanted to share my thoughts and would love to hear yours too.
Yes definitely down to the person in the area, but also when you have problems their CS isn’t great, if more people complained instead of asking on Facebook have you got my parcel I’m sure things would get better.
I just did the survey for the AI chat bot. It was pretty natural and responsive and what it said was legit, but it struggled to integrate with the Lovehoney website and provide links to the right products. I’m sure it will be improved though.
But yeah, use of AI is a tough decision for businesses to make right now. If not done right it can look insincere and profit driven. I think it’s productive if used responsibly to make enhancements to a service, but as long as the primary motive for its implementation is not to replace staff, reduce costs, and skimp on quality business in the name of profit.
AI will inevitably become more and more prevalent for the same reason other technologies have been adopted. The same arguments were likely had with other technological advancements and automations, but looking at the employment rate in the UK over the last 150 years it has remained consistently (aside from some employment rate dips from recessions or depressions) around 70% despite the many advances seen over this long time period.
Yeah very much agree - its a lottery down to the courier itself. Our Yodel chap is a wonderful retired gentleman who always stops for a chat when he delivers to me (usually my coffee pods) - and our Evri courier is fine. But the previous one was terrible. I usually swear by DPD as they’re always amazing here…but has seen others complaining their DPD is rubbish…
Fed up of A.I. being rammed down my throat. From people who claim A.I. is their own art just cos they told it what to draw, people asking A.I. to create songs in the style of particular artists. The things these “creations” lack is humanity, creativity and passion.
I see all these students today happy to get good grades in subjects that A.I. will make them unemployed.
The lie that A.I. will negate the need to work, where will the funds come from to pay for a population to sit at home?
