Lube

Just curious looking to do a bit of exploration. Is there a difference between regular lube and anal lube. I keep hearing for prostate massagers to use anal lube. Is there any difference from “regular” lube.

Anal lube often has some sort of numbing agent which is not something I reccommend using.

Some have numbing things, but I believe it’s more than just that.

The vagina is self lubricating and is meant for things to be put up it… the asshole isn’t. So anal lube addresses some of these things, like being thicker to reduce tearing, as well as being longer lasting as it isn’t doesn’t line itself etc.

I believe there’s more to it like things relating to ph balance etc, but they’re some of the main things (I believe).

In short and lazy terms

mostly thickness of the lube and how long it lasts (anal being a thicker lube with the hopes it lasts longer)

Some simply are thicker and more gel like.

That thicker viscosity seems to provide some cushioning. It may or may not be what people want.

I fully agree with @MissTery, steering clear of numbing lube is a must. Pain is your body’s way of telling you not to do something or to take it slower.

I think anal lube is just more lubey?! But it’s usually good to get water based. May I recommend using liquid silk lube.
