I have been close using toys but never achieved just yet. Think I got a perineum external prostrate orgasm a few days ago using a vibrating dildo pressing into my prostrate externally via perineum 1 inch or so above my anus.
With fingers I would recommend wearing a latex or nitrile glove it will stop lube or silicon lube soaking into your finger and keep it more lubed for longer.
My arm wrist hurts after a while using my finger so I use toys but have read fingers should be be fine.
2 to 3 inches deep two or three knuckles on your finger fine press tab rub or circle our fleshy prostate gland relax and go for it. Good luck.

I’ve never reached the big P orgasm and keep trying but can find pleasure from stimulating.
My problem is patients I think as it takes time , relaxation and keep going to achieve.
I highly recommend latex glove 
/ Lube as above, but equally find after a while my finger and hand aches.
Get comfy and people on here in previous topics have discussed on you back , legs up against a wall and feet flat or whatever feels comfy, could also be on all fours and reached round.
Toys help and plenty on LH site , but I’m still trying to find the one that gives me ultimate pleasure.

If your just using fingers to get there then I’d suggest plenty lube and well trimmed nails plus maybe even some sensual stimulation lube or gel that gives a tingly feeling 
I sometimes find 2-3 fingers in makes things feel more pleasing than just the one finger.
Alternatively you could consider a male prostate massager that doesn’t vibrate.

Just don’t try your whole hand straight away hehe! I find 2 fingers better but even more awkward for my wrist hence toys are handy.
