I’ve been training for 2 years, only missing the odd week, for food poisoning and hols.
At the start, I was hol and wifey took a pic of me, and I had a spare tyre lol, not huge but enough to shock me when I saw the pic.
So my biggest advice is consistency, gotta keep going rain wind or shine, the day u stop is the day u quit.
Next, use a daily calorie counter like my fitness pal.
Keeping a daily watch, you’ll be Suprised how many Extra calories you consume, without realising it.
Form habits, relating to diet. So don’t have crap in your fridge or cupboards, u can’t eat it if it ain’t to hand.
Cut out alcohol, and drink on special occasions, not everyday.
Same with take aways and junk food.
We lived on chicken and broccoli, 1800 calories a day for a while, just to get rid of fat, it’s easy to maintain weight once you get to a certain level, it then becomes maintenance, plus the added feeling of looking in the mirror.
We’ve just been on 2 hols for the wife’s 60th and our 10 Yr wedding anniversary.
So having 2 milestones to aim for helped.
The pics of me are a few months ago, and I dropped my weight to 14 stone 5.
Im 6ft 2 btw, so along with a few muscles I looked shredded.
The amount of comments I got of women in the gym was crazy good.
So that helps too, as does belt sizes and clothes.
Remember it’s not a sprint it’s a marathon.
Watch Beard meets food too.
He’s a competitive eater, but he’s skinny. But his logic is bang on.
My son is 6ft 7 and huge frame.
He’s lost 5 stone using his method and looks amazing now.
I think doing gym work around the midsection helps, but we all know a 6 pack is made in the kitchen.
I’ve got my top 4 6 pack muscles atm.
But it’s bulking season, and I’m 15 stone 9, but oddly enough I’ve kept my waist, but that’s through a clean protein bulk.
Saw a T Shirt in the gym once that said “How bad do you want it?”
I use that as my go to now.
I’m 57 and time isn’t on my side, I’m never going to look like Arnie, but to be honest I don’t want to.
Being stripped and lean is in.
Plus the health benefits outweighs cosmetic, ie visceral fat.
After all, it’s a lot of work for a 6 pack for the few weeks of summer in the UK.
Callesthenics isn’t a bad thing to tag onto your gym training too.
Not so much doing fancy stuff like on you tube, but the core excersising that builds up to the fancy stuff.
I do an hr gym and follow on with around a hr callesthenics workout, about 5 days a week, 4 some weeks.
Then eat clean, and protein at home.
Want to be ripped in that old age peoples home
