Bit of a trim as it needs to be neat but I hate how it looks with no hair at all!
I'm always trimmed to a grade 1 used to be smooth but the OH likes a little bit of hair their.
I try to keep it smooth down there as much as possible, sometimes only knocking the crack hair to a low trim pass as it gets really uncomfortable sometimes with new growth in your crack!!!!
Groin wise I tend to do the same and below the belly button I do a loose pass, otherwise the slapping of skin on skin gets to ouch sometimes!
As for my wife, honestly I prefer her as natural as possible, I find it very sexy, but she prefers smooth which is fine by me, so she tends to cycle lengths.
My hubby keeps it very trim which I much prefer, and I do the same for him 😁
I used to keep myself super smooth down below, but it was a lot of effort to keep it smooth enough to not cause stubble burn with wifey. It also invited a fair few questions in the changing room showers after training/games.
Nowadays i whip the beard trimmer over the region to stay neat and tidy.

My wife shaves my shaft, sac and crack fully back every 3 days in the shower. Generally leads to a stiffy and a good result.
I started amateurishly manscaping not long before I went to uni after hearing the "oh, it makes your cock look bigger!" tales.
Yes, it does, but I wish I'd never done it! Obviously you end up with much thicker, stronger growth and much longer hairs when it does regrow, and where you shave close to the skin it's pretty easy to get cut hairs prodding you in the worst places. I use veet/nair on my bum for "other reasons" (some aesthetic) and for a few years treated my manhood to the same treatment - also a mistake. Nothing serious, it's just very unpleasant and clearly not worth the discomfort.
Of course, this left me in the position where now I basically have to periodically trim Little Richard, shaft especially, since it's just unsightly otherwise. Between an electric trimmer, disposable razors and shaving cream though, my tools don't seem up to the job of a pleasing, even shave.
So, cautionary tale!
Only do it if you're sure you want to do it and maintain it!

I've seen charity leg waxings, I'm not having one of those down there!
Saucy Eros,don`t use disposable razors!(I only used one once on my face and it was awful!) Use a quality one like a Hydro 5 and a sensitive gel like King Of Shaves(Not gel that foams) you get MUCH better results! I shave shaft and balls weekly and below navel fortnightly with no problems!
Shaved round my silly and kept above very short for years.
