Trimmed is fine, my OH is pretty lazy (well too busy and tired when he gots home) so doesn't do it very often but I let him know when it's really bad
I have shaved everywhere smooth for the past 12 years. I find the whole feeling far superior to having hair. I must admit that a shave twice a week is preferable to keep things under control.

Trimming is enough for me. I shaved once and it was unbearable when it started to grow back - now I just trim and shape it with a pair of clippers. Does the job.
I've been with guys that shave, trim and leave it all natural and I personally prefer it if they trim. Granted something nice and smooth to go down on would be great so you don't get any unwanted hairs but then again I think men should have some hair down there, which is funny considering I don't like hairy men!! I have shaved smooth for over ten years. Every morning, in the shower, soap up and whip round with the razor then apply body lotion. Also shave everywhere else apart from my back. I get that waxed . Love the smooth feeling.
I prefer to completely shave down there as it feels more hygienic and I think it looks much better too 
My OH usually is fully natural and once in a blue moon he will trim-not shave.

I shave completely & my OH trims very short. For me it's more hygienic and a much better sensation & I prefer hairless/minimal hair when I give oral.
I prefer mine shaved and my OH appreciates me being smooth since she is the same.
