Whilst on holiday people watching i noticed the ladoes had much more of a choice for swimwear so whats your preference

My husband wears swim shorts. I’m 100% biased 
I have somewhat predictably chosen option 5 - none.
Neither of us own any swimming attire, and if it’s not suitable to be naked even discretely then we won’t bother.

As a fan of skimpier underwear , I wish I brave enough to wear budgie smugglers and mankinis . Living in an area where they are not the the norm I would get laughed off the beach. The closest I get is wearing them under my swim shorts .

If out on a public beach, Swim shorts or Budgie smugglers. Private pool swim thong or nude, depending on the company. (missing options)

I used to do bodybuilding and I freakin loved wearing posing trunks on stage and showing it all off. I was of course nervous at first but then realized “when in Rome”.
I would love to wear Budgie smugglers on the beach but the US is uptight about things like that. So just wear Swim shorts.

I used to train with a University swim team, so it was aways Speedos (aka Budgie Smugglers) in those days even when open water swimming. Nowadays I’ll wear Surf Shorts (Swim Shorts) on the beach, usually, unless I’m going to take multiple dips, in which case, Speedos. Back in the day I raced Triathlon in Speedos for the bike and run legs as well as the swim. It was normal.

It all depends on where and what the people there like . I have my grandpa swim shorts if in a family setting . If an adults only my sub speedo . Private location like my pond or at nudist camp , naked .

I do like to go naked where possible. However, when I do wear swimwear, I like micro swim briefs, which are very similar to women’s bikini bottoms, and swim thongs. I have a few pairs of each in different colours and they are tight with minimal coverage.
I wear them for my own enjoyment and tend to do so in more secluded spots. Women have a variety of sexy swimwear and so I like to wear similar items myself and share in the pleasure of doing so. It’s the same attitude as that I have with lingerie, wearing something that is pleasurable and, with swimwear, there is the bonus of being able to do so outside.

I have always worn board shorts, it was a big culture here in Australia growing up, but now in my 50’s and reasonably fit I wear bugie smugglers. I also have a swim thong, but have not worn it on a public beach, but am keen in the summer to get a thong tan.

Hubby wears budgie smugglers with no lining in them so when they’re wet the fabric clings to everything. Its blatantly obvious that he’s circumcised as the head bulges out so he always gets alot of looks

I have a few pairs of swim briefs and a black swim thong too. It’s conservative (well as male thongs go ha ha) but there are limited opps to wear it. I’m a naturist so much prefer to swim naked. It feels so much nicer and no wet costume stuck to you afterwards.

There is such a taboo against guys wearing briefs. However, and not to be rude - there are a lot of ladies wearing bikinis and enjoying it - but perhaps shouldn’t be - but no one cares.

I suppose that it’s because men’s swim briefs look a bit like knickers and show off the package a bit. I have no problem whatsoever wearing them and it’s just anatomy that there’s a bulge there. No one complains about a bikini top contains a pair of boobs!
Order of preference at a beach or pool would be totally naked first, then maybe gstring, conservative thong, briefs and only then would I reluctantly settle for board shorts.

Certainly agree with you here.
We had a hotel break in Newcastle before Christmas 24, and it had a pool, jacuzzi & sauna. With very careful discretion we would always use such facilities naked, but it had more cameras than the BBC
As such I was forced to wear my small swim shorts in the hot tub and it was hideous, after two minutes I got out due to the clinginess etc. My o/h wasn’t as affected with her very tight bikini, but still found it too unpleasant, neither of us wish to repeat the experience in the near future.
PS, we did enter the sauna wearing just a towel each and it was dark enough to undo it until someone else came in, so not all bad.
