I like a good beat to music and lyrics that mean something.
I'll listen to most things but draw the line at really heavy death metal. I shared a room with my brother when we were kids and he was into some really obscure stuff. It sounded like he was using power tools.
I'm into house music, disco, any thing with a groove basically. I grew up with two older sisters and would like some 80s music but the 90s were my formative years so grunge and dance were my thing. I got into house music in a big way when I started going to Sir Henrys night club in Cork, they were fairly hedonistic times.
I listen mainly to rock music, stuff like Iron Maiden, Deep Purple , The Darkness but also like Jamiroqui and Kate Bush so a bit varied really.
These days i like a bit of everything my playlists on spotify include pop, rock, classical, dance, country, electronic, blues, soul, rap, indie. in my late teens/early 20's i was in to indie and used to buy a lot of 7" singles of the bands that were around at the time

My main loves are Punk, Metal and Ska. Although other genres I listen to frequently include- Darkwave, Industrial, Synthpop, Folk-Metal and all other metal and punk sub-genres, Hip-Hop, Electro-Swing, Reggae...
...I'll just stop there and say pretty much everything because otherwise, I'll just list 1000 genres...
