New to Butt plugs

I have just purchased my first set of butt plugs. This is something I’ve wanted to explore for a while. It sounds like it can make the orgasms 10x better. Do you have any advice on getting started? Do’s…Don’ts…tips…tricks?

Lots of lube and start slow see what works for you

Plenty of lube, some light anal prepping and slowly work way up in size :cowboy_hat_face:

They’re a great addition. We started using them a year ago, me more recently. Start small and work up, our favourites are the metal 5 inch girth jewel plugs, quite weighty but in a good way. From a male point of view when im in my wifes pussy i can feel the plug too which is a turn on.

I got the metal jewels ones. Hoping my husband loves them. Didn’t realize a guy can feel it.

Yes he will be able to see it move a little too as he goes in and out of you. Have fun!

Seconding these points exactly, just do these and try and be relaxed when you start!

Do:

  • Use lots of lube
  • Go slow
  • Start gentle
  • Relax
  • Communicate plenty
  • Have fun

Don’t

  • Let your husband fetch the lube himself, mine got confused in the heat of the moment and grabbed a bottle of hand santiser instead. My ass burned with the fury of a thousand suns and my farts smelled like a dental surgery. 0/10, do not recommend.

This is funny, but at the same time I know in the moment, it was horrible. I’ll make sure it is the lube.

I’m non-conformist. Believe me, in that very moment I was more than ready to start praying to a higher power!

What everyone has already said

Take your time relax and have fun. I was surprised by how much I enjoy being stretched and full.

We have been trying with this set for about a year I think. We must both be very small back there, my o/h can only just cope with the smallest one, I can manage the medium one.

I’ve tried the larger one many times slowly and gently, and at the last bit it feels like I’m about to tear something so have given up. O/h reports the same with the medium one. We’ve even tried specific anal lube over water based but still the same.

We have no issue with my small LH prostate toy, or her LH beads. I even adore being pegged with the beginners kit, but daren’t try the next size up.

Just trying to say to everyone that patience is the key and if it doesn’t fit then don’t worry, it’s not a competition.

Hey folks, rather than starting a new thread I thought I’d had some questions here. Male early 40s here.

Last night, for the first time, I tried out a vibrating butt plug (https://www.lovehoney.eu/sex-toys/butt-plugs/vibrating-butt-plugs/p/lovehoney-butt-tingler-10-function-vibrating-butt-plug-3.5-inch/a28501g70101.html) - all thanks to this forum to be honest. Previous to this I would have been very much a “no” for any anal play for me, but this forum opened my eyes to the potential. I’ve been through some challenges with my wife over the past few years and we’re trying to work through those intimacy challenges at present. In parallel I’m open to doing some self exploration.

So, last night with the house to myself, I tried out the above toy. Plenty of prep etc, no real discomfort, unusual sensations, but no real direct pleasure. I presume this is normal and it takes some playing around in terms of angles, and potential more targeted male toys in any case?

Sorry for the rambling, but wanted to give some context, but also to highlight the importance of this forum!!

Glad you’ve tried it for the first time. Don’t expect too much at first, I found it quite a long learning curve, playing a few minutes for a few days until it feels natural.

It will help immensely when your partner helps you with it, I find some arousal beforehand is required to be in the mood for anal play. Let us know how you get on.

@Readingintheshadows glad you’re being open and trying anal play! I think you did everything right, it sometimes just takes a few times to be turned on/in the right mindset, or learning how to zero in on the pleasurable anal sensations. Even as an experienced anal enjoyer I sometimes find myself not feeling much pleasure from it if I’m not in the right mood. Especially with that plug on the smaller end, it is great for beginners and to ‘train’ anally, but may not provide a lot of direct pleasure/stimulation on its own. It might enhance the pleasure you get from simultaneously stroking yourself, etc.

I think the exact stimulation(s) that everyone enjoys from anal play is different for everyone. As a male, the most direct pleasure you can get is from your prostate/P-spot but for a ‘plug’ type toy you leave inside for the most part, you’d want a prostate vibrator for more targeted stimulation https://www.lovehoney.eu/sex-toys/anal-sex-toys/male-prostate-toys/ like one of these for example (I have not used this one personally but that’s the idea)

Other sensations people enjoy are the feeling of fullness (with plug sitting inside) or stretching (during insertion) both of which would become more intense with larger toys. The in and out motion providing sensation at the opening and potentially hitting the P-spot over and over can also be pleasurable, but is not as applicable for plugs as it is for other insertables.

Happy to help answer any other questions you may have on your anal play journey!
