Hi guys. I've finally decided to start to explore a bit with anal play. I say finally because I've been intrigued by that for quite some time now and I can't wait to experience the new sensations
I've read the guides and I reckon I know what I want, but I need something discreet (I mean quiet and not too big and intimidating) and easy to use on my own when I play with a wand or a clit vibe as I'm a bit clumsy - lol! And I don't want to get my hubby involved before I'm quite comfortable with this kind of stimulation.
I'd appreciate any tips whether I should start with beads or a butt plug. I think some of them look so pretty and I know it's silly but I do like a beautiful toy.

I would go for the basic anal beads... Only 3cm circumference.
I would also recommend a small plug too....anal toys often tend to be on offer too so perfect to try a few.

Anal glass dildo is only 4cm too so good for beginners. Just remember to lube up, a lot as it doesn't lube like our vaginas do 😀 I'm clumsy too and manage just fine using a wand with anal toys and vaginal toys too if I've got time as those orgasms take a while to come down from 🙌

It was the first one I ever used and it's still one of my favourites. It's small in size so not too daunting for a beginner plus you get to experiment with some vibrations too.
Plugs are great as you can leave them in whilst you have some clitoral fun and it won't get in the way. Enjoy!
For me I prefer using dildo's for anal play - i like the feeling of being pounded rather than a stationary feeling of plugs and/or beads. Only a butt plug for when I am having vaginal sex/play.
To answer your question, for me it'd have to be plugs. I can't seem to get much depth further than about 7" in both canals. Deep penetration isn't a massive requirement for me. So beads don't really appeal to me.
Squirty is right, I would also recomend to any newbie to anal, get a good quality dildo thats not too big and has some texture to it, I still think the lovehoney beaded glass dildo is a great beginners toy. It is rigid, but that is ok for exploring. It is not too big but is big enough to feel it. The bumps, shape, and length, and even the second ball, provide different aspects of anal to explore. just a really good toy. A beginner might need to use something a little smaller as a warm up to accomodate it but after a little practice it will be your warm up.
Between a plug and beads? plug. Beads are ok, I am generally underwhelmed by them. I wont recommend a plug, there are so many and as long as your mindful of the size you just have to try some. Dont spend a lot on your first few plugs. You may outgrow them and or decide you want a different shape or design. You have had some really good recomendations already.
For me, I use large dildos on myself. But for a beginner, you should use a small butt plugs or use a small dildo first. Then after a while you can up grade to little bigger butt plugs or use large dildos. Until you get the size you want on butt plugs and dildos to use and feel comfortable with.
I started with plugs and still love them for making you feel fuller but the feeling of pulling beads out at the point of orgasm has been a revelation. I always pair either with clit stimulation and a dildo vaginally. I haven't tried an anal dildo yet so will also be checking out some of the suggestions here.
Hi guys, I've taken on board your recommendations and I feel that a plug is the right thing to get me started.
It seems I'm not able to link at the moment, but I've decided to go go with Lovehoney beginners glass butt plug. It's absolutely gorgeous and the Lovehoney logo gives a bit of an extra oomp, plus the cute storage bag.

The only thing I would say is that there isn't much difference in size between the bulb and the 'stem' bit or its very gradual so you might find it difficult to keep in, especially when you orgasm. Don't what to put you off your choice though, glass is lovely.

I find that this plug pops out easily. In fact, most plugs with a round base do, I need T-bar plugs, they stay firmly in place.
